Re: OCZ Powerstream PSU (Fuhjyyu 3300uF 10V)
Ok good to know, then I will press on with the project and replace the "fukyou"s with the Panasonic caps you linked....

Re: OCZ Powerstream PSU (Fuhjyyu 3300uF 10V)
Your comment leaves me slightly concerned about the quality of the rest of the components in here, perhaps the PSU is not worth salvaging?
The large first stage caps are Teapo LXK 1200uf 200V 85C, are these any good?

It won't matter that they have difference capacitance values?

What are my options? It's hard to measure with all the wires in the way, but it seems to be 10mm.

OCZ Powerstream PSU (Fuhjyyu 3300uF 10V)
Hello,
I have an old OCZ Powerstream 520W PSU I would like to keep using. It works currently, but I opened it up and found some bulging caps which have me worried, I would like to replace these. There are:
4x Fuhjyyu 3300uF 10V
What could I replace these with? Where could I buy replacements that ship to Germany?
Thanks!...Last edited by Kleist; 11-08-2020, 02:12 PM.

Re: DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
Looks like Topcat has some MBZ/MCZ stock left so I will just go with those.
Thanks for your input!

Re: Rubycon MBZ availability/replacement?
I now realize that by value you probably meant what capacitance and voltage I need...sorry it was a long day at the office
I would ultimately like to change all the chemicon caps on the board, here is my shopping list:
Visually Bad:
KZG 1500uF 6.3V (8x18mm??): 2
KZG 470uF 16V (8x11.5mm): 7
Visually OK:
KZG 1500uF 16V: 5
KY 1000 uF 6.3V: 3
KY 100uF 25V: 14
KMG 470uF 6.3V: 2

Re: DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
Just went back and measured the caps, the 470uF is definitely 8x11.5 like the spec sheet however the 1500uF seems to be 8x18 or so... definitely not 10X12.5...

Re: Rubycon MBZ availability/replacement?
Hi Topcat,
What do you mean by value? How long do I want them to last?
This motherboard (DFI Lanparty NF4) is more than 10 years old so whatever caps I put on here will probably outlive the rest of the components. That being said I would like to convert this into a small home server so the uptime will be near 24/7 and it will accumulate a lot of hours relatively quickly.
Did you have anything in mind?...

Re: Rubycon MBZ availability/replacement?
I am somewhat hesitant to replace them with polymer caps not knowing enough about the implications on the circuit, I would rather a direct replacement.
Are there no more good electrolyte aluminum caps being sold?
I looked into the Panasonic FM already but they are not the same size as my KZGs.

Rubycon MBZ availability/replacement?
Hi Everyone,
I have a DFI board with a bunch of blown chemicon KZGs which I would like to replace with Rubycon MBZs but I cannot find them in stock anywhere, are these still for sale?
Are there any good replacements for the Rubycon MBZs?
Thanks!

Re: DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
Hi Chaos,
Thank you for the detailed reply. I must not have checked those dimensions correctly last night but you are right. The 470uF is listed as 8x11.5 and the 1500uF is listed as 10x12.5. This seems strange since visually I can see the 470uF has a larger D and the 1500uF is almost 2x the height...
Are there no low-esr aluminum-electrolyte caps available in the market right now? Is poly my only option?
If I switch to poly caps am I required to switch all the caps on the board or could I...

DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
Hello Everyone,
My trusty old DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D has finally died on me and I would like to revive it. Upon inspection I noticed 3 bad caps as seen in the photos below:
2x chemi-con KZG 1500uF 6.3V
1x chemi-con KZG 470uF 16V
I did some searching on the forum and see that these KZG caps are notoriously bad so I think I will replace them all. I also saw a similar thread which recommends the following replacements:
Rubycon MBZ/MCZ
Nichicon HM/HN
Panasonic FJ/FM
I took a look on the...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello everyone,
New member here, looking to repair some old motherboards with visibly blown caps, this seemed like the perfect resource
Cheers!
