Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
Where? I'm decent at soldering, I am willing to stack the led's or replace the whole strip.

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
I found someone online with a broken lg TV, not the same as mine but would the led strips work for mine? Or do I need the exact same model?

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
??? Should I look online for some? And if I do is there a part number I should be looking for or a particular set? Also do all LG's have the same led's? I'm thinking if I can find a broken one online and probably just pull the led strips from it or does it have to be the exact same model.?Last edited by robledjl; 12-17-2016, 09:29 AM.

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
Odgaf: thanks for the info, I'm sure I would have tried that since I was running out of patience and suggestions, I didn't want to buy any expensive parts because it was more of a hobby to try to get this fixed with the least money possible. Now that I realize that I do have a bad led, well now I have to see how much I can get one for.
Martino: how much are you asking for the strips?

It's the R1. Although I think it would be a challenge since it's the first LED next to were it connects to the other strip....

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
Hey thanks once again for the reply. My 4wd was messed up and just like this TV I was doing a lot of trial and error until I bought a new encoder motor and that's what fixed it... I'm not trying to buy a new TV since this one was free lol so the whole time all led's turned on but was still getting the on then off issue, well today after checking the voltage and posting the last message, I flipped the TV over and turned it on and saw that one led was off.... So now that clearly tells me the reason why I'm getting these readings...I thought...

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
Ok I still haven't given up yet, I had my truck Ive been working on but that's fixed so now I'm back to this. OK Martino if you are still around I just followed the suggestions from the last post... All connections are firm and not loose. I did check the voltage on manual and one side tested 105v as soon as the TV turned on and then dropped to 59 and was steady. The other side stayed around 25 to 35v the whole time, it didn't even hit 105v as the other side did. Any more suggestions?

Can anyone tell me what's the deal with my last multimeter reading? Should I check all diodes?

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
This is the reason why I love forums...sharing the knowledge others have is great for us people that like to fix things for a hobby plus save some money... UPDATE: so I got ahold of a real fluke from my neighbor.. Did the same test again and one side reads 5.40 while the other says O.L!??? Did this test 3 times with the same results, all backlights turn on.

Does anyone know if these readings are wrong? Bad?

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
OK Martino, I just got home and played the video again and followed it like you mentioned, I don't have a fluke with a min max option but this is what I got... Right side 058.2 and left side 37.5 but it was not steady it would fluctuate. ???

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
can anyone look at the picture of the LED that had been solder and see if it looks good or should I try to flow it better? Like mentioned before...this TV had been previously repaired before it was given to me. thanks

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
Hey Martino! Thanks again for helping me out. I'm not sure if I wasn't understanding you right but I took some pictures to maybe help you understand what I did. Now I'm not a professional but I try to fix things. Lol I tested the + pins as shown on the picture, I get a reading of 76.5 on both with the TV on. I also took a picture of the solder it had been done before, what do you think? Did you wanted me to read the points on the actual strip?...Last edited by robledjl; 11-27-2016, 04:35 PM.

Re: LG LN5700 logo flash then dark screen
... Another thing I just noticed, so far the led's stay on. I left the TV on in the garage to see if they will stay on for a while, well it seems like after 30 minutes or so it turns off, I'm wondering if it has a setting that makes it turn on if there is no signal? I then turn it back on and it stays on. I'm still puzzled as to my original problem??
