Re: Biostar G41-M7 strange behavior
You should take that poly that's heating up out of the board and replace it temporarily for a low esr (a 820uf or 1000) or another polymer cap and check if it works. Some caps can fail in a manner that they create a partial short and heat up quite a bit.

Re: A "nice" YoungYear unit?
Actually not, 3.465 is the maximum allowed by ATX specs.
12.6 is the maximum allowed so as long as it doesn't go beyond that it should be fine.
I would still recommend not using that PSU, but that's up to you, you could see if the cx430m board fits in the case of the apevia.
Remember to check all the voltages when the PC is at idle and full load (prime95 and furmark)

Re: Biostar G41-M7 strange behavior
What's the voltage on that capacitor? If it's between 1.1(most likely) and 1.2(highest supported by most mobos with g41 chipset) is for the Northridge, and if it's close to 1.8 should be for the ram, I know that this will not solve your problem but it would be nice to know if that capacitor is part of the issue.
What brand are the other caps on the motherboard?

Re: The ghetto mod thread
Thanks, yes it's a nice way to mount a fan on a drive bay.
Actually I don't think that PSU is made by apevia, is not that good but not near as bad as most apevia I have seen
This is the PSU, actually you posted a couple times on that thread

From what I saw is a topower or at least based on the design
Look

He said something about leadman but I don't think...Last edited by Drack; 12-11-2018, 01:53 PM.

Re: LG studioworks 700m (Crt)
Well I was sick last two weeks so this project was on hold, will check it next week because right now I'm troubleshooting a Philips stereo that works intermittently (my dad reverted the polarity on a cable and the technician broke the psu PCB while checking what fried but he didn't find anything, but I found what it was, a cap that vented lol so yeah, might take a while) , next week will finally have some vacations! So more time for projects

Yes lol, at least is not dangerous, just ugly...

Re: A "nice" YoungYear unit?
yes that should help, i think 80v might be high enough so you will probably be fine.
there is only one cap on 12v?

Re: The ghetto mod thread
well lets start...
this is my main pc:
Asrock g41-vs3 rev2.0
Pentium E5700 @3.69Ghz (246 FSB IIRC)
4gb of ddr3 ram (2x2) dual chanell @984Mhz CL-7
PowerColor R9 270 Turboduo
Agiler Agi-1000ps psu
random case
on this pic you can see there is a black thing on top of the bottom fan(i saw that there was a hole on the bottom of the case, i had a 80mm low rpm fan that could take some cold air from the side grill for the gfx so...) is a 10w 20ohm resistor for the nidec beta V 92mm fan on the back...

Re: The PacMan ATX Computer Case - cleaning and painting
I support the idea of painting the power button yellow, nail polish should work well and it's cheap.
Nice work with the latex paint, as for the brush marks i wouldn't about them, they are on the inside and also, anything is better than rust...

Huh, just found this thread, I think I have quite a bit of stuff that qualify for it... Probably will post a couple tomorrow

Re: XFX GeForce 8600 GT [PV-T84J-UDD3 V5.0] – recap information and shenanigans
Well it looks like I forgot to check this thread for almost 2 years... Hehe
That's a very good looking card, some young PC is going to be lucky to have it on it's pci-e port
Now seriously though, nice mod momaka! I think it even looks too nice to be called a "guetto mod".
Any updates?

Re: A "nice" YoungYear unit?
No the small ones don't need to, just match the specs , but I would still recommend a beefier rectifier for 12v, a water pump can draw a significant amount of power and you are very limited with 20A

Re: A "nice" YoungYear unit?
That would be a heavy 12v PC, but probably ok because that CPU is only 65w and 75w for the GPU, just do not overclock it with that PSU.
If later you have some extra cash you could buy a 430w from EVGA or the 500w it would be Overkill but at least are safe and kind of cheap

Re: A "nice" YoungYear unit?
Well taking into account that 130009 can't (on most cases) go above 350w (sometimes 400w but it's not that common) and are 2A more powerful than the ones on this YY I would say 300w just to be safe...

Re: Enermax PRO 82+ 525W repair
Well it's a 450w element so probably close to 3.75 amps but that's just guessing

Re: LG studioworks 700m (Crt)
Thanks momaka that was what I was thinking to do, will do it when I have some time (maybe tomorrow or the day after) I don't use this monitor too much (8 times probably in a year) but colors look so good on it that I just have to fix it
