Re: MSI GTX-980ti shorted MOSFET on memory rail
Thanks again ktmmotocross for quick reply.
I am not an expert. Looked through the file and found the relevant section on page 30.
The U8 seems to be either RT8809 or APW8700, looking at the pinout on datasheets and boardviewer file it seems like APW8700 is the correct replacement as RT8809 has a bit different pinout.
Is it ok to get APW8700 ? also is there anyway to check whether the culprit really is the PWM controller IC ?

MSI GTX-980ti shorted MOSFET on memory rail
Hi All,
I have this MSI GTX-980ti Gaming Golden Edition. It had shorted mosfet on memory. Replaced the shorted i.e. Q47 PK616BA with 4C09N and the card ran fine for a month. Then suddenly again the same problem. This time when i replace it 4C09N or with replacement PK616BA (Aliexpress) it gets shorted. As soon as turn on the PC the PSU shuts down and the same mosfet Q47 gets short.
What should be the next step. Kindly guide.

Need specs for Sacon FZ3A
Hi guys,
I cant seem to find specs for this capacitor
Sacon 470uf 16v FZ31 (105c)
they are on my old 6600 card, and its making whistle noise, so i though these are the culprits.
also will these be good enough as there replacement ?

Re: Help identify caps
thanks yyonline,
is there any kind of list for caps on forum posted, which would categorize the capacitors grading ?
like you just posted about that the Pana M series is general purpose and the KZG can be used. I mean it will be easy for noob like me to chose the correct one.

Re: Recaping Linksys WRT54G v1.0
got the router working again, but it was not the bad caps, it was some kind of short in the mini pci express card it had. Gave the Mini PCI card a hot air treatment and its stable now. Thanks again for you help.

Re: imac g5 dvd hell
u might open the drive and clean the lens with isopropyl alcohol, i use Acetone instead of it.
Also i have gotten 2 dvd-rw to life by adjusting those POT's which are on lens for CD/DVD Lazer power. measure the resistance on it, and turn it like 2 to 3 degrees at the time.
now a tip to test it while its open. u can pray apart the top sticker and get the round plastic thingie which has the metal, now u can put any cd in tray and on the top put that thingie, and close the tray.
usually if the cd is picked the...

Yak == horse ride ?
Alot the new things sold here are 3rd Quality chiense, cant blame chiense for that, as the person that import them order the lowest quality cheap things....
