Spi is 8soic near cpu with 25xxx like label. I' ve used http://www.ebay.pl/itm/CH341A-EEPROM-Flash-Programmer-SOIC8-to-DIP8-EZ-Prog-SOIC8-Clip-On-Board-/162523230105?hash=item25d723af99:g:VxYAAOSwONBZCkrV programmer with non soldering clips. There are many tutarials how to use this tool. I have code for pfl6008k - I think it will not be compatibile with 7007k so Yoy must get it somewhow (maybe someone on forum have it). Good luck.https://Spi is 8soic near cpu with 2...ONBZCkrV

Hi, i'm contacting you conserning your post about Philips 40PFL7007k/12, my tv just died. I'm about to order a new motherboard from berlin, but first i want to try the fix you did.

Can you help me with some "know how". How can i locate the SPI Flash chip on my motherboard, and how can i flash it? What tools did you use and in what order?

    Greetings Timo

    Hi All,

In my case problem was broken first 256 bytes of spi flash. Reflashing solve problem for now.

Right now it's extremally hard to get this ssb replacement. Even Philips doesn't seems to have any (at least in Europe). It looks like it's the only possible but not permanent fix (ssb replacement). This is very bad.

    Hi everybody,

Sorry for digging up this subject but I know there are many Philips TVs with such problem (no start from standby) and actually I have one also. I've heard that problem might be with 2 epoxy covered chips on main board and repair is inpossible. Also replacing main board is worthless because replacement would probably die sooner or later. Has anyone have some info regarding this?

    Best regards
