  • Re: VIZIO E320VL Powers on then shuts off within a few seconds

I had the exact same issue as been described by several post. I am in a unique position in that I had two of the exact type of units. I swapped power supply with the same results. I contacted VIZIO. I was not very happy with there customer service rep. She insisted my problem was with the power supply. After getting nowhere with her, I ordered the eeprom U18 from a site on ebay. Soldered it in, and everything came up working. I got a survey from VIZIO about my contact with their customer service. At least I got to vent....

[QUOTE=retiredcaps;124496]It may only be one ccfl that is bad, not all of them.

Thanks again for the quick feedback. Excuse the ignorance, it looks like these are wired in parallel, and if one was bad the screen might be dim, not dark. What is the procedure for testing individual CCFLs? I was just going to replace all of them as I don't want to tear it down in a couple of months to replace a different one. Is the failure rate on these minimal and I have just experienced an anomaly or is replacing them all a smarter way to...

Thank you for the quick response. Great suggestion, just the kind of thing I tell techs when I am helping them. First mistake, assuming I had the same problem, " never assume anything".
I swapped the power/inverter board from working unit to defective unit, same problem. Install latest repaired power board to working monitor, that unit continued to work. It looks like it is the CCFL. I have disassembled the defective monitor to access the CCFL .I found some on Ebay for about $29.00 plus shipping. If anyone has a part number,...

  • Re: Chimei DAC-19M009 Power Supply problems

Hello, This is my first posting. I have read all the posts I can find on the DAC-19M009 Power Supply problems. I have two Viewsonic VG2230 monitors. The first one failed about two months ago and with the help on this thread I was able to get it up and running by replacing the caps and both of the mosfets. I order enough parts to repair the second one as I was sure it was not a matter of if, but when was the second one going to fail. Sure enough yesterday was when..
After replacing all the caps and the mosfets I have the 2 second...
