  • Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U 3D Not Working

Thanks for the research and assessment. I have placed a call for a Sharp technician to come in to service it.

Yes, the glasses are fully charged and the light stays on. I have tried several pair of glasses after fully charging them and the result is the same every time. On my TV there is no 3d coming through but I then walk over to my son's identical make and model TV and I get perfect 3d. I am convinced the issue is with my TV and not with the glasses. It has something to do with the row of lights on the TV that illuminates when 3d is being broadcast. It lights up on my son's TV but not on mine.

I own several sets of 3D glasses and none of them have an indicator light that comes on other than the light associated with powering them up.

Yes, the glasses have a setting for 3D and they are correctly set and working fine with my son's tv.

I had it set to "Auto" so the TV should be making these adjustments but I did try setting it to manual and then moved the depth bar to the left and to the right. It just altered the focus of the image.

I just made a discovery. On my son's tv when I do the 3D test, on the way-bottom of the frame there are 6 lights that come on red when it goes into 3D mode. The lights go out when it shifts back to 2D. On my TV nothing lights up when I do the same test. I imagine this is the IR sensor that you were referring to? Whatever it is, it is not lighting up in 3D but apparently should be. So the question is whether this part is defective or whether the chip that is supposed to send a signal to this part is defective.

  • Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U 3D Not Working

Thank you again for your help. I did tests with two fully charged sets of glasses that had previously worked just fine with my tv and still work fine with my son's same model tv. I covered the IR sensor on the glasses and the 3D did not appear when testing the glasses with his tv but as soon as I uncover the IR on the glasses, perfect 3d appeared, as expected. On my son's tv I noticed that the ghosted balloons are only slightly to the left and right behind the solid balloon when viewing the test screen without glasses or when covering up the...

I just looked all over the front of the TV and only see the two dots for IR sending.

I don't believe so. They are model AN-3DG20-B. No mention of Bluetooth on the box.

I am using the Sharp glasses that came with the TV. I used a book to block the IR sensors on the front bottom of the TV. The book successfully blocked the sensors as I had to move the book away to use the TV remote to access the test menu and then I put the book back in place after selecting the 3D test. The results surprised me as well.

Thanks for posting the manual but unfortunately that is the owner's manual that I have with the TV. I am hoping that somewhere there is a link to the technician's service and repair manual. I found that for other models of the TV but not the model of I have.

  • Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U 3D Not Working

Thanks. I just spotted a suggestion from Budwich to test out the 3D glasses on my son's working TV and block the IR sensor. I just tried that and even with the IR sensor covered over, I still got perfect 3D on my son's TV using the battery powered 3D glasses. I was not expecting that result as I would have thought that the battery powered glasses needed to receive an IR signal to provide 3D viewing but not so. Perfect 3D on his TV. The images are the same as on mine in test mode, with the balloons having a ghost image to the rear left and rear...

Thanks. Do you know where I could find the repair manual for the Sharp Aquos LC-70LE757U? I did an internet search but could not find it. I tried the recommendations that were listed on the thumbnail with no success but I do appreciate the link so thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. The 3D feature of my Sharp was working fine for over a year using the same glasses that are still working on the same model 3D TV that my son owns so whatever the issue, it is definitely something with my TV that has gone on the fritz. I am using the 3D test on the TV itself so that I was able to rule out the issue being with the broadcasting from the blueray player.

  • Sharp LC-70LE757U 3D Not Working

Hoping someone can help me with my Sharp LC-70LE757U. My tv is only 1 1/2 years old, barely out of warranty. The 3D feature had been working fine, but now it wont work. When I perform the built in 3D test, the images just will not converge to make 3D. My son has the exact same tv model and his works just fine with the various 3D glasses I am using to test mine, so the issue is absolutely the 3D on my TV. I called Sharp and they walked me through a soft and a hard reset of the TV but it did not solve the problem. I just tried a test using non-battery powered 3D glasses to help figure out if the...

  • Re: Sharp LC-70LE757U Flashing 2-5 :-( can it be saved economically?

Thanks. Great suggestion and I just tried it with the non-battery powered 3D glasses, having high hopes that would be a solution, but unfortunately the images are still not merging to create 3D images so I guess the issue is not in the IR sensor. Must be in the motherboard or in the TCON board. Is there a link available to the repair manual for the LC-70LE757U so I can look up where the 3D feature resides?
