pioneer A-307R flashing leds on front panel, possible short
I have a pioneer A-307R here and what it does is flash all of the leds on the front and nothing more.
I got the thermal camera out on it and saw that Q451 was getting hot, so I removed it and the lights now come on as normal, but obviously that part of the amp doesn't work.
I tried replacing it, but it goes back to its flashing lights thing again.
I noticed too that on the back of the board R465 - R467 - R 469 are all getting red hot (over 100 degrees C)
Im guessing I have a short here somewhere, but so far I have not managed to find... -

ms-16p51 not turning on
I have an ms-16p51 here for repair. When you plug in the power it was getting no light, so I've flashed the bios and now getting a light, but still not turning on. 3.3v and 5v always on are present and the power button is getting 3.3 and dropping when pressed. Also when the power button is pressed the bios is getting 3.3 for a few seconds, but nothing else then turns on. Under thermals the only thing I see getting warm is the chip that supplies 3.3 and 5v, can't see any heat in anything else. -

Hi I've got a ps5 in for repair. When it's plugged in it immediately beeps three times.
On the desktop power supply it pulls no current.
Under thermal camera nothing shows up.
All fuses test good
Voltages are :
F7002 - 5v
F7502 - 5.1v
F7003 - 5.1v
F5402 - 12v
F5401 - 0.18v
F3501 - 12v
F7001 - 5.1v
So presuming the issue is in the F5401 circuit.
I have probed it and see no shorts in the 5 components there. So not sure where to go from here as no idea what... -

Surface Pro 5 No Power
I have a surface pro 5 in for repair. The charge port had liquid damage and some of the pins were corroded off so have replaced the charge port on it, but there is no power.
I am getting 3.3v at the power button and have been following the following :
POWER ON SEQUENCE (TBD)
STEP
Signal & Description
1. Convert any raw power to +3P3VAS
3. +3P3V_SAM / Generate SAM's power
3. SAM_RESET# / Intialize SAM
4. +VSYS / Declare system power ready
5. PCH_DPWROK / Declare deep power good to PCH 6.

I've noticed if I unplug the battery and then plug it back in with no charger plugged in it does this flashing cycle then, even with no prompt to boot.Leave a comment:

So it's working now as far as charging the battery goes. What I'm getting now is white light on the charger turning on for 5 seconds, then off for 7 seconds. It does this with the battery or the charger plugged in. The battery voltage is about 14.9-15.2v . It was 13v originally but left it charging overnight.

There's one chip, it's dual channel for both ports.
So on the top of each coil I wrote the pulsed voltage. I then injected that voltage into each coil with the power supply without anything else plugged in.
All the coils but this large one near the battery connector with a mosfet on each side take the current just fine. This one though was clicking the power supply into over current / short every few seconds. I sprayed the board with freeze spray and couldn't see anything heating up. Yes iv got the tps65988ce which is marked on the ic as ptps65988ce G TI 78J P4L2
The original says tps65988ce TI 94J P0Y8 G4
This is the closest version I can find anywhere, so presume it works?.
I have a usb amp meter, it reads 0.07mah every few seconds.
Is there a specific supplier you suggest for the ic that works ?.Leave a comment:

Hi iv got an Hp spectre x360 DA0X36MBAE0 in for repair.
It was referred to me from another shop.
It was brought in as the other shop had told the customer it was dead because of a bad port. Although the port isn't great it's not shorted inside or mangled to the point of being unusable.
I have tried removing it anyway but makes no difference.
I looked at the motherboard and found that I had a short on the pp_hv 1 and 2 caps on the output of TPS65988 .
I diagnosed this as failed TPS65988 and removed it from the board.

I tested the resister and it is within spec, so wasn't sure why the voltage was so low ?, as I have changed the mosfet itself.Leave a comment:
