Re: What do I need??
Yeah, its 12V, same thing as the "On" voltage.
A lot of models power the low power electronics section with the "Always On" voltage. This almost always includes the display controller as well.

Re: Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT
I recapped this unit and it has since been running fine, but after reading about yet another flashbang......
Time to quit using this thing.
It definitely does have a flaw in the PFC circuitry. The flashbang issue has all been in the same components. Too bad Enermax is refusing to liven up that such a problem really does exist.Last edited by Spyke; 12-27-2007, 10:48 PM.

Re: Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT
Just following up here, my kind reply back from an Enermax ticket. (Or lack thereof and a closed resolution)

Re: Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT
It was in a Lian-Li V1200B chassis, all thats in the bottom chamber is hard drives and the PSU itself, which has an intake with a 120mm fan. The PSU should of had a lot of cold air supplied as its seperated from the main heat generating components, (mobo, video card, etc)
Specs are:
Opteron 170 @ 2.8ghz
6 hard drives.
(and for the majority of the year, a 7900GTO (rebadged GTX) video card)
Not even a week ago I upgraded to an 8800 Ultra and this happened.
An 8800 Ultra draws about 60 more watts...

Re: Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT
Yeah I ordered a Corsair (seasonic) to replace it. According to the reviews of the ELT620AWT on Newegg, one should stay clear of this ticking timebomb. The Corsair has much much better reviews.
I'll most likely just recap it and put it in a lowend machine for my girlfriend. It'll be run at maybe 15% at the most there.

Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT
I had this sucker not even a year, powered a 7900GTX with an opteron for the later lifespan, and a 6800GT all before that, and only recently a 8800Ultra. I had issues of failing to post, failing to poweron, I decided to open it up (knowing I would lose my ability to RMA but i hate junk PSU's), and found this.
Loaded with CTC garbage!

Oh oh, I see a bulgly leaky piece of crap!

Re: a bent cap
I tend to bend all slightly bent over caps straight up obsessively. (where pin alignment allows one to do so of course)
Harmless. Often they do get bumped during shipment.

Re: bad Advueu LCD monitor, blown capacitor
This is just the direct output to the CCFL series'd with the capacitor. I don't see how there can be a cause of failure other than a defective part. If you have any cheap CCFL kits that people tend to shove in their towers these days, you'll find the same caps inside the little inverter boxes. Nab one from there if you have one readily available.

Re: Ban the import and sale of Deer/L&C power supplies?
Yep, saving a few bucks, and sacrificing the power supply quality, big mistake. Plenty of safer ways to save money when building servers, the power supply certainly isn't one of them.
Yes, ban these pieces of junk, and include Boom^H^H^H^HPowMax with it.

Re: Voltage doubler? Which component(s) is it?
Each lytic gets hit with juice alternately as the AC waveform cycles. The power then from both lytic's in series is the doubled voltage. The bridge rectifier's output is still wired to the main lytics just as if it was set to 220V, but the center common connection between the 2 main lytics is connected to one of the AC mains wires. What the switch does is either connect or disconnect this mains wire connection. It's the simplest of voltage doublers.
Yes, the series configuration of the main lytics is crucial for the...Last edited by Spyke; 08-30-2006, 08:53 AM.

Re: 200W is not the same as 200W
You see stories of customs stopping everything else at the border, including chinese DVD players only because they stopped paying a CSS license, you'd figure they'd stop this crap easily from coming across too. They obviously don't care about anyones safety....

Re: 200W is not the same as 200W
I begin to wonder how crap like this ever gets any safety certifications.
