Re: Toshiba Satellite a200 PSAF6A-07G01N BIOS
Hello,
Uses Phoenix Bios, No hdd mode in set up page.(AHCI ,IDE,etc...)
So I cannot change it in the BIOS
Thanks for reply
One Question, Pressing Esc when laptop is turning On and seeing the RAM count up, mean that the RAM is okay.

Re: Toshiba Satellite a200 PSAF6A-07G01N BIOS
Hi Guys,
An update,
Thanks to rievax_60, I replaced my BIOS chip.
I have gone from BIOS v1.5 to BIOS v2.0
Unfortunately it still does the seem thing. I am at a loss to know
what is happening, it boots up, the BIOS system checks the RAM, and it still does the same thing. Goes Black and does not search for the HDD or DVD or Network card.
Does anyone know what can be up.
Could the SATA/DVD controller be faulty and not booting up.

Re: Toshiba Satellite a200 PSAF6A-07G01N BIOS
Thanks rievax,
I have a new CMOS battery and it is keeping time.
Thanks for the info on EEPROM IC being U33,
It does the same with one Ram module,(swapped using one at a time). Keeps rebooting when using top RAM slot. Have to use Slot 1.
Thanks...

Re: Toshiba Satellite a200 PSAF6A-07G01N BIOS
No I have not.
Does the 0251 checksum error tell me if it is a corrupt BIOS.
I am a noob, I thought I could flash without a programmer.
So I need to buy a programmmer, locate the Bios chip, which I believe is under the PCMCIA mechanism, erase then reprogram.
Is this correct....

Re: GVA GVA32UA2 LED LCD Picture Disappears and Reappeares
Hi Guys,
A quick update. Fixed.
It was not a Capacitor or a Transistor as first thought from previous threads have stated as being mentioned.
For eg) https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40142&highlight=mp116a
I tried replacing Q8 2N4011, EC7 10uF, EC8 100uF 35v. No go same problem.
Also replaced the large EC5 68uf 450V Cap. Also no go same problem.

Re: GVA GVA32UA2 LED LCD Picture Disappears and Reappeares
After working fine for 6 days it has failed.
So budm I can report that the backlights flash in unison when it goes black and then blue screen NO Signal.
Black Screen- NO Backlighting ,
Blue Screen "NO Signal"- YES Backlighting.
Any Advice.
If it's the Power Supply, what components Capacitors or Transistors?
Thanks

Re: GVA GVA32UA2 LED LCD Picture Disappears and Reappeares
Thanks tw2005 for the reply,
Yes that is what I did also, I googled MP116A Power Supply and got a badcaps thread.
Yes it does seem Typical to work fine when it is the weekend and you have time to pull the TV apart to fault find.
I have to wait and see if it happens again, and check behind the unit.
So the loose Earth would not effect the grounding of the Power Supply.
