  • Re: are there any ipod techs here??

Hi, I dont know if you have found a solution to your problem yet but i have a shop in Bedford TX and work on them daily.

    1. Are you plugging the iPod into a computer via USB? If so thats your first issue. You need an external power supply like the wall or car charger. One that doesn't need drivers installed to power it on.

    2. I would try a new flex cable from the docking port to the logic board. Swap them from the other one in the picture. See if that helps.

    3. The Cable from the Logic board to the...

When I short the leads out I get ".00".
Not to sure why it is doing that. Thanks for the reply
To make sure we are clear.

When I power on the unit I get "-" on the disp1 then ".10". Then if I press the power button again I get ".00". If I touch or short the leads nothing happens. Stays at ".00".

The picture is without the leads touching....

Good News first: both displays are now working! thanks a ton for all the information.

I would like to thank everyone for all the input yaull provided, it helps me understand the way the meter functions and what component does what.

    1. The meter reads 10 when it is on and i have not seen "-" on the display. ALso the LED on the left has yet to light up.

    2. I get an F1 error code when i hold...

    I appreciate the quick responses.

    Agent 24:
Thank you for the information. I did first check continuity on the Q13 transistor and all checks out. I then removed it and checked the transistor to test it w my multimeter, guess this is where im a bit green. I know the transistor is a NPN and i looked up the data sheet and see pin 1 is the Collector, pin 2 is the Base and pin 3 the Emitter. So my question is what reading should i see on the meter as this is a switching transistor to verify if it is working...

  • Re: Bob Parker's Blue ESR Meter Assembly & Comments

Ive purchased the meter and after i finished assembly and im having an issue with the right side LED and Display lighting up.

I looked over a few posts for trouble shooting and the only thing i could come up with is IC3 may have been bad but i since replaced the IC and i am getting the same results.

Any ideas?? Here are some pictures of the front, back and the display.

Any input would be greatly appreciated....
