Re: diode question / identify
stj, if I replaced it with the LS4148, there is no possible way for me to kill it? No over voltage or anything crazy before identifying the diode?

Re: diode question / identify
I will get the make / model when I get home. The other HDMI port is working which makes me think that one diode is bad. It looks like 2 diodes per port so I test them all and the one diode that is bad, the port doesnt work. A service manual would be great!Ill post the info asap.

Re: diode question / identify
I have not tested it off the board but I am 99% sure its bad. I tested the other HDMI diodes and that one diode tests bad. I know its out of focus and will try to get a better pic. I will have to use a magnifying glass to see anything on it.

diode question / identify
Attached is a crappy pic of a bad diode on tv board which the HDMI port stopped working. The other diodes test fine for the other HDMI port. What type of diode is this? I cant see any numbers on it or anything.
Thanks

Whats up ppl. I took my friends TV to the local repair shop(back before i actually started doing minor repairs myself) and let them see if they could repair it due to the cable not getting a signal. They fixed it and everything was good.
Its been about 2 years since that issue and now its doing it again. So i bring it to my house and put it on the pool table. I do a little google searching before I pop it open. All the stuff I found pointed to a bad fuse on one of the boards.
I open up the back and locat the fuse on the board and theres a strip of solder over the...

Re: Router conflicts?
If i think i got the problem right:
Your comp works fine connected to your eth port on your modem. Your router isnt getting an IP from your modem tho.
Alot depends on your ISP. I have a surfboard and i have Atlantic Broadband as my isp. If I change my router, which i have many times in the past, I have to reset my modem. Theres a reset button(use a paper clip) in the back of your modem and hold it down for about 10 secs. Make sure you have your modem plugged into your router before you reset.
Option 2 is to call...

Re: Viewsonic Optiquest Q19wb
so it seems to be bad lamps? i took apart the screen and it seems like the lamps arent any like i normally see. Like the ones u can just side out. These seem built into the whole back clear screen once u removed the top darker peice.

Re: Viewsonic Optiquest Q19wb
any update on this issue? im getting the same exact thing as above, same parts and the tests are the sme.
On the pink resistors tho, there are 3 different sizes but if you look at the 2 big pink ones, one had a red band and the other a blue. ones tests out at .05(set my meter to 20m) and the other just 0.
Transformers measure .628 and .635 for 01 - 02 and 03 - 04

220uf 16v replace with 220uf 25v?
is it possible to replace 220 uf 16v with a 220uf 25v? I know you can go up in uf by about 10-20% but what about volts?
Thanks

Is this a 4 amp fuse? or even a fuse at all
Hey all, need some help on fuses.
I got a bad 3 amp fuse on an inverter board on another comp. I tore apart this old monitor and check the board. I think i found what could be a 4 amp fuse. In the pic the white thing has a 4 on the top. Im guessing its a 4 amp fuse? If it is, could i replace the 3 amp fuse with that 4 amp fuse?
Thanks

viewsonic vx900 low light
I have an older monitor, viewsonic vx900, the screen is really really faint. I can barely see the windows logon screen. I searched some forums and they said it may be inverter. I found it also could be the fuses(pic included).
How would i know what type of fuse this is in the pic? I cant seem to find a diagram of this board, DAC-12c024.
Thanks!...
