Hi, is it no pic, or an extremely washed out one?

Samsung UN46C5000 Washed out
Hi folks. Let me 1st thank everyone here! I've learned a ton from reading these forums - my 3 current TV's all thank you VERY MUCH
I got so cocky that when a co-worker showed me a washed out Samsung UN46C5000 I gasped "I know that fault!" Hehehe, yeah shoulda known to keep my mouth shut. Anyway, I figured this was a bad gamma chip on the TCON. Upon cracking open the back I found it is a MAX9694 Gamma chip on the TCON rather than the common AS15-F I've replaced before. VGMA voltages look ok with a nice downward progression as does the AVDD voltage.

Re: Sony Bravia LCD with 1 thin vertical line
Digging up an old thread
Hey.. I have a similar Vertical line (opposite side of screen) on a Bravia kdl-40v4100 that I just replaced a bad AS15-F Gamma chip on. However the line goes away after the TV has been on a short while. Do you think this would still indicate a failed (failing) COF IC?
Thanks!
