Re: Samsung LE37M87BD with heavy ghosting issues
Well in this case it didn't matter much. There was a clear tear in that tab, so I'm sure that's where the problem originated.
It's a load off my shoulders actually. I've been fighting a death battle with this tv for years and I had to flee the room for 10 minutes because of the noise it made when turning on.
Thanks for the help all

Re: Samsung LE37M87BD with heavy ghosting issues
I ripped the tab off after it got worse. There's no image at all now. Just some white lines. and some light background buzzing.
What can I do with the rest of the parts? Can I still use the panel in any way now? How about a replacement tab?

Re: Samsung LE37M87BD with heavy ghosting issues
Well I still use the panel for some browsing, and it's a lot better than using a 17" screen since I won't have the money for a new tv for quite a while. I just can't play games or watch videos on it. I'd prefer to not take the risk without knowing more about it. How can I know for sure what they are for? Is there some kind of technical blueprint database where I can look this up?
Also I've noticed that the top one of the tabs has a small 90 degree corner scorchmark on it that the others don't. This is also the height...Last edited by Darkwave0; 09-23-2016, 10:31 AM.

Re: Samsung LE37M87BD with heavy ghosting issues
I can't seem to find the edit button. Checked the FAQ and it should be there. Wanted to add that I found out what influences my problem: Besides the flat cables that are connected to the lcd panel, there are also 4 flaps connected to the left of the lcd panel. They don't go anywhere but are just attached. There are little 1mm by 3mm rectangle blocks on them, and if I push on the top one, the whole screen shows the vague artifacts/streaks in the middle of the pictures very brightly in white, and they fade away once I let go.

Samsung LE37M87BD with heavy ghosting issues
Regarding an 11 year old Samsung LE37M87BD that's been used as a pc monitor all day every day.
I've opened up the tv, which currently looks like the picutes linked below. I think the problem is related to lcd panel flat cable connectors but messing with them doesn't change anything. Any ideas?
I once saw a video for my specific model about the problem I was having and it said to put pieces of paper under the flat cables that connect the panel to the rest of the tv, which will make them connect better. This was to fix the problem that the tv needs to warm up...
