Thank you very much for your time helping me with this.
I will replace the TCON and let you know if it is successful. Luckily enough these are only about a fiver on ebay.
Im glad there are people around willing to donate time and knowledge to keep these things out of landfill.

Yes I do have sound and it does respond to the remote and auto standby so the software must be ok. The backlight is also on.
The black bar was flipped and ribbon connectors are in perfect condition. I am very careful.
I tried only having one ribbon connector in at a time as suggested above. This did not make any difference to the blank screen.

Hello, I was recently given this tv by a family member.

Power 17IPS71
MB 17MB95
TCON T420HVN06.3 CTRL BD 42T34-C03
I have only carried out basic repairs to tvs in the past. Changing capacitors and LEDs ect. And have not yet come across this fault.
The backlights light, the tv responds to the remote indicating the software is ok but no picture. Always a blank screen.
As per the advice on other similar threads I removed and cleaned the contacts on... -

Oh right i thought it was a psu failure so put all my effort into that, i have had a look on google and cant seem to fined any information on the 17mb45m-3 firmware and how to reset or reinstall it. Do you know of any way to solve this problem? Thanks.Leave a comment:

JMB 32883 MB45MLCD flashing red light 17pw25-3 070610 psu
This is my jmb branded vestel tv with a 17pw25-3 power supply. I have tested all the diodes and none of them are shorted i have tested the 10n60l mosfet and it is fine. The only thing odd about the psu is the low frequency buzz it makes when you first plug it in also when the standby led is illuminated and you press the power button you can hear a slight tick from it that then stops when the red light starts flashing.... -

I recently paid 5 pound on ebay for this psu and i am wondering if this is a good quality or at least usable psu. The secondary caps are branded samxon and i have no clue what the primary is. It does seem like it is a very low hours unit as there was very little dust inside when i broke the warranty seal and opened it up.... -
