  • Re: Cyberpower 1200AVR problem.

I have not, but i don't think the model in question lets me set that on the software as far as i can remember. I know my newer one can....

Alright, so i just went to a place to test them as i don't have the equipment needed for that, and they are indeed dead. It holds a charge but not capacity. The guy said it's probably bad cells. So that answers that. Know of any good cheap batteries and where to get them that wont break the bank? Also, can i still use the UPS for the surge protection aspect or is it not a good idea to use without batteries?

Edit: Oh,yeah. So i forgot to ask about the UPS's behavior when it did work "properly". When i first bought the batteries...

OK, so i put it all back together and turned it on without the batteries. It cycled on and off a few times then just stayed on using battery and beeped every two seconds without batteries and while plugged in. I read the voltage from the battery leads while it did this. It was 27.3v. When i hooked the batteries up and got a reading it was also 27.3 plugged into the batteries. This time just the power on light is on and no beeping. OK. So, just plugged in small load and ran a self test. The voltage dropped to 25 volts for a second and then back to...

Sorry about the pictures. I'll upload them in a bit. As for self testing I used the program to self test when the unit was together and it would die immediately after starting the test. I tested the batteries separately not Hooked up to anything. I assume you mean the charging voltage? I forgot to take that before tear down. I'll reassemble and see what I get. What should I be looking for with/without butteries plugged in? Oh yeah. To answer your first question. I assume? When I powered it on it would just go into AC mode no problem. While plugged...

  • Cyberpower 1200AVR problem.

Hello. You have no idea how excited i was to find a place that helps with this kind of stuff! Anyway, i'm having a problem with a UPS. Cyberpower CP1200AVR. So, it was working fine for months then out of nowhere would just stop switching to battery. The unit functions fine when powered from the wall, but as soon as the power goes out or i unplug it( I know its sorta of bad to do that with no ground and all, but it was for testing) it beeps and then dies completely. The battery's are pretty much brand new and they both show 13v with a multmeter, so its not them. I guess its something internal....

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello! I stumbled across this site when looking for ways to fix a problem i have, and boy what a forum. This place has a plethora of information and good people. As someone who has little to no knowledge of electrical engineering, i hope to learn a lot here.
