I'm at my GF's for the night but I'll look at it in the morning with a camera and a heat gun and see what I get.
Completely non-scientific observation: When I power it on, it clicks once. As I remember, don't these click once, and again a few seconds later when the backlight comes on?

Well it worked for a while thanks to your help but I don't use it much at all and after a month of non-use I tried to turn it on and got no display. The Vizio emblem turns white, I hear the PS click but no video. Any hints where I could test or anything else I could have missed or done wrong?Leave a comment:

Sorry, I wanted a close-up to get good detail. The solder points at the bottom of the pic are for those 2 caps. I'll get 4 and replace them all. Right now I have it up and running on the non-low-esr C241 and it seems to be running a LOT cooler than it did when I first tested it!!! Will leaving he back cover off until I get all the caps I need screw up the cooling?Leave a comment:

Now I know how other people feel when they wonder how I know so much about computers!!
I called my local place and they didn't seem to have a lot of knowledge on low ESR. I'm going by that way so I'll check in and if they don't have C240A and C240B, I'll order. You seem to prefer Mouser.com but I used digikey.com. Is there a big difference or is it HD vs Lowes?
C240C and C240D aren't involved here? they appear the bridge the same gap electrically.Leave a comment:

I put in the inverter caps and will wait for the PS cap to show up. I'm going to put that in and run it, and pick up the other caps in the PS when I get a chance. Do you think they are Low ESR as well? No rush as it worked before I took it apart.

Yes, for now I'm just planning on that one cap in the PS as well as the 4 on the Inverters. The others in the PS show no sign of problem at all. I thought I might throw that cap in (and the inverter caps) to watch football tomorrow on it!!!Leave a comment:

OK, thanks. I had to cut away charred board on a fix once.
About this 470 cap I have ordered that isn't "low ESR". Are most caps "low ESR" or not? I have a local place I can score a cap from. Would they be labeled "Low ESR"?Leave a comment:
