    Well, I tried removing the EEPROM, I was very careful, but still the foil lifted up on 2 of the pins. Does anyone know of where I can get a rebult main board for this model Vizio E4461-A1 Board number is 715G5560-M01-000-004X

    Hi there fellow electronic enthusiasts from Omaha, NE. I found this site on the web while searching for problems with a Vizio flat screen. Although at one time (20 years ago) I did electronics repair as an income, it's now just a hobby in my home, mainly working on restoring old antique, and unique TVs and radios. I have restored and completely recapped an RCA 21CT55 (CTC2B) and also an RCA CTC9 color roundies. Also several B&W sets, a 1948 RCA, and a Sylvania Halolight. Also restored the workings of a 1937 Philco radio 37-665....

    I am working on this same model set for a friend and it is completely dead. Power supply voltages check out ok, however when I push the power button on either the set or the remote absolutely nothing happens. I suspect it's also the EEPROM. I located it on the main board, but worried about trying to remove the old one and solder in the new. I have never had much luck soldering in surface mount components. I have the usual small pencil irons, solder wick, also a solder sucker. Since a used main board is quite expensive, (even on e bay), I am...
