I appreciate the replies but ended up fixing the problem with a 60" LED.......I still may tinker with it to see if I can get it going...it made no sound when it went it the screen just went dark...any reference you can give me on where to check voltages and what I should be seeing? I do have an electrical background, thanks!

Hello, I am looking for some more guidance on this issue. I will list what is going on and what has been attempted.
1. Screen went black while viewing, audio stayed operational. Tried with the remote to go to menu or input modes and nothing will appear on screen.
2. Visually checked all pc boards for swollen caps or burnt components, etc. and the only thing I saw was a small "brown mark" between two components on the power supply board, I will try to attach a photo. The white out area of the photo is merely a vendors name.
