  • Re: Sharp LC37D44U Blinking LED

Well I have kept that TV around all this time and I just came across an LC-32D44U that the sound quit on, so after doing some research I found that this TV uses the same Mainboard as the LC-37D44U and since the 37" has a toasted LCD panel I swapped the mainboard and boom, sound fixed on the 32", so I guess it paid off to keep it around all this time.

Well Sharp has offered me an LC40D68UT as a replacement @ $285.00. As much as I am not happy about it, it is cheaper then buying a new TV from a store. Oh the LCD screen on the old one has a short, that is what the repair shop has found, so I am trying to find someone that might have a dead TV that I can steal parts from, but I ain't holding my breath

Well I have taken it in to be looked at and well it aint gonna be cheap, about $900.00 to repair, so I am working on getting Sharp to repair or replace the TV under warranty, so far it looks like they might.

Well I took the back off and I found everything to be looking good exept I noticed that 2 screws are missing on the power board, they have what looks to be grounding pads but no screws, doesn't look like there ever was so I don't know would that be it? I have heard some electronics can detect missing screws. Here are the pics, all caps look good.

I have been able to get sound after unplugging the unit and while unit is unplugged hold the volume up button and channel down buttons down and while depressing both buttons plug the unit in which should have put it in SERVICE MOD. but the picture is blank, I can see the backlight is on but no picture.

I have a Sharp LC37D44U and I was watching it when it shut off and the power + OPC lights flash 2x each then the OPC light flashes 3x, not sure what this means, I cannot find any info on this anywhere. Anyone know?

  • Re: Acer AT3201W Issues

Well that is possible, the person using the TV before had their Sat TV hooked up via Coaxial cable (don't ask me why) and when ever it went to channel 3 which was the default for their sat TV and it would freeze. When I took it home and powered it up with no input it would freeze after its search and it would be channel 3. I have the VGA plugged in to the PC and I watched a movie in 720p and it looked nice. I only had to drop contract and brightness, and move H-Pos to center and I am so far working 100%. I am going to move to S-Video b/c I already have 2...

Ok, I will look into it. I have been able to hook it up to my PC and it is working 100% so far, as for the overheating issue I don't think that is it b/c it had been off for a few hours when I turned it on again, it was randomly doing this over that last several months from what I was told. This is a crazy issue. I will keep updating on the issues.

Oh an update to this, I have been able to bypass the freezing by pressing the INPUT button as it is doing its pre-check and it work fine after that. Any ideas?

    Acer AT3201W Issues

Well hello to everyone who reads this thread.

I just picked this TV up at no cost and I wanted to give it a go at fixing it. The TV will power up and turn on, the ACER screen appears and it goes though an A/V check and stops on Channel 3 and then it will freeze BUT I have sound form the source input, the 3 stays on the screen and the back light works fine but the TV will freeze and will require a hard power off with back switch. I have not opened this unit up yet, but I will and I just wanted to know what should I target first? I have been reading about the inverter board, but...
