Thank you, I will do that.
Hopefully, someone can identify that NTC Current limiter and I can get it and the cap next to it replaced....

    Wow!
Thank you, Budm, for your quick response. I have taken pics of my board now.
I am a novice and don't even know what these things are. But I am determined to learn to fix this stuff myself.
The monitor exhibited the difficulty powering on symptoms. Also, someone had cut the power cord on the auxiliary speaker that gateway has. This jack is the 12v out to the speaker bar. I DO want to use the output jack...

Hopefully, this will bump this old discussion.
I'm working on fixing my monitor. I have a kit off amazon that came with all the capacitors you should need to replace.
    Question...
Do I need to replace ALL of them or just the ones that are swollen?
Also, there is a part that is obviously burned up that I need help identifying.
It is the green ceramic capacitor I have circled. this is not a picture of my board. Mine is burned all around this area and the capacitor itself crumbled when I tried to get it out so I can't...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hi there!
I'm a total novice, but ambitious. I am learning LED design, 3D Printing, CNC routing, Laser burning, and prototyping. I will be all over the threads and probably asking dumb questions.
