Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Yeap.
Because in the very beggining I have just that on hands...
After that blows up, I bought the exactly one that the board has...
Do you think that are problems with this difference?
many tks!...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Okay,
D805 there's no 5V DC on it. and the transformer is not provinding any voltage. D803 has the same behavior.
I did the diode check on both and the results are:
D805 -> Between 1 and 2 = 0,150 ohm and is the same for 3 and 2.
also, if you go in the reverse way, the multimeter is giving me 1.520 ohms. Is not suppose to not conduct in this way? or is this type of diode?
D803 -> Between 1 and 2 = 0,300 ohm and is the same for 3 and 2.
Nothing on...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Guys,
Something is no good on this transformer or before it. When I take a GND as a reference, I have 308V in the pin 1 and 308V on pin 3, but nothing in the output. Also, If I check voltage between pins 1 and 3, no voltage. Is this not DC voltage?
Tks!

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Let's take this side as a secondary, all the pins (6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11) are shorted and they measure less then 1.0 ohm between each other.
When the transformer is installed in the PCB, it shorts 6-7 than 8-9 than 10-11. (see picture available)...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
WOW!!! I saw this manual and the board is EXACTLY the same as I have!!!!
If I find one like this to buy, can fix my problem and I can have more time to fix the bad board... Someone knows were I find one like this?
Also, I'm moving and will measure some other points, because this wiring manual helps a lot!
Keep you all posted. Tks!...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Just one thing, I have 308Vdc going to Pins 1 and 3 take a GND as a reference. Pin 4 I have GND. Measuring in the other side, no reading at all, looks like a bad transformer... what do you think? Shall I remove it from the PCB to take a better look?
Tks!...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Here is:
1) I would start at D801 and test it in circuit with ohms to make sure there are no shorts since D801 feeds right into R805.
-> D801 (the rectifier) is okay, it only goes in the direction to convert AC to DC and the values are 631ohms.
2) Test R805 out of circuit to ensure it meets the proper ohms value to the color code.
-> I dont know if I can trust on reading because part of it came off, so it reads 1k5ohms. Picture available
3) Retest...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
Hi, I'm back... I could not wait until get home to still working on this, let move...
1) Okay, please disclose everything else that you found BEFORE you posted. Letting us know about the bad NCP and open resistor is something we need to know. Was anything else replaced or found wrong?
-> yes, since the problem begins, I replaced the NCP1337, the resistor (R805)(looks like a fuse-resistor), the FET that is marked with S G D, and 2 SMD's resistor (R807) and (R831).
2) I'm assuming you are...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
1) The datasheet for NCP1337 is at
You will need to download that and refer to it for voltage measurements. Pin 4 is your ground. Please list voltages for all pins.
-> Taking the Pin 4 as ground, the voltage is Pin 1= 0VDC Pin 2= 0VDC Pin 3= 0VDC Pin 5= 11VDC Pin 6= 0VDC and Pin 8= 275VDC
2) Did you replace NCP1337 before you posted here or after? It matters to know when you replaced it.
-> I replace it after the problem. The only thing is, the previous component was...

Re: emachines e19t6w inverter powersupply help
NCP1337
It's a 7 pin IC
I have replaced it, because it was cracked (very easy to identify).
I will post the pictures. I got those.
Yeap, here is almost 3am.
tks for your help....Last edited by jselvatici; 08-25-2010, 12:02 AM.
