I can confirm that it works!
I flashed that same file on my x240 and worked with the following sympthoms:

First boot:
Boots on power connect.
2x 5 beeps as expected
Delay some seconds until logo appears and then hangs up there. No keyboard response.
I waited 30 seconds and powered it off by holding the power button 4 seconds.

Second boot:
I simply let it go and it boot up and automatically reboot. After that reboot it passed the logo screen and I could enter the bios password using...
