Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
Just wanted to close the loop on this. I sent in my A-board to PTS and they sent me back a refurbed A-board. Popped it in and the TV fired right up! I still have the A-board from the 55" and am waiting for the two ICs to arrive, but at this rate, I am thinking I may never get those ICs.
Thanks for the help from everyone!

No worries at all! I was going to buy that other board anyway and try it for $100...

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
Sears Parts Direct is showing the two chips as in stock. I do not have access to an EEPROM reader - been a while since I've done that, but that would clearly be the easiest....

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
IC8900 is huge, so that's great news! LOL
I think I'm going to do both and see if it works. I'll order the two chips (IC8902 & IC9304) for under $30 and see if I can't get both boards working. I don't know how big those two chips are, so hopefully not massive....

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
You don't think I would need to swap out IC8900 either? The numbers are different there too.
The cost of the three new ICs is about $60. The ICs appear to be under the heat sink, so I may pay the $95 to have modus rebuild it while I wait for the 55" A board to show up. I'll probably do both since I already bought the other A board.
You agree on the problem being most likely the A board?...

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
So this is pointing to the 55 board not working on the 65 tv without some fairly in depth changes, right? May be worth trying to cancel the 55" board order unless I'm reading your post incorrectly. I'll call moduslink today and see if they repair A boards.
Thanks for the help!

Worth a shot! I will report back once the 55" board shows up.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
Yep, same symptoms!
Is there a possibility the board from a 55" VT30 would work on the 65" VT30? The part numbers are the same, but the Suffix is different - NIL (no resistors) is available, but mine is AB (one resistor). Can I solder a resistor on the NIL board to make it an AB board?

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
The LEDs on SS and sc only come on if I hold the power button on the front down for about four seconds, then let go. Red power led turns on and the sc and SS LEDs turn on a second after. Then once the cycle time is up, the thing resets with the relay clicks and the SS and sc LEDs turn off but the power led stays on solid. If I hold the power button down on the front again, th red led will go off upon release after about four seconds. The remote does nothing.

Re: Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
Moreno,
I followed the troubleshooting guides referenced on here. But I guess I'm not 100% certain.
More background/info:
Upon plugging the tv in, two relay clicks. By doing nothing, two more relay clicks 33 seconds later. Then this sequence repeats immediately - click click, 33 seconds, click click, 0.5 seconds, click click, 33 seconds, click click, etc. During this sequence, the optical audio audio lights up for about the first second of the 33 second gap.
The remote is unresponsive...

Panasonic TC-P65VT30 Click Click Click
Hi all,
So after a lot of storms this weekend, I came down to the basement to hear my 'man-cave' TV (purchased Feb 2012) clicking on and off non stop (just the relays).
I've been reading these forums since Monday and have started the troubleshooting process. At this point, I've come to the step where it is telling me to replace the A-board. A-boards for this model are seemingly impossible to find and I'm wondering if I should even try using the TC-P55VT30 board? The part number for the board I need is suffix AB and the 55 VT board is NIL. Can I buy the NIL board...
