Re: Need ASUS Capacitor KZG 16v 1000uf
i recommend nichicon uhz 16v 1000uF which you can sometimes find on mouser.

Re: question about Polymodding
is it true that as long as the ESR is equal or lower than the ESR of the cap you are replacing, the motherboard should work properly? (obviously with a matching voltage and uf)Last edited by halaster79; 02-08-2020, 01:51 PM.

mini black and grey motherboard caps
what caps would you recommend to replace
gsc n52e 100uf 16v
tayeh d910 10uf 25v
g-luxon 100uf 16v sm105c 402A(m)
and any of those little black and grey motherboard electronics caps like that

Re: How reputable is TheCapKing?
i was web-surfing. I used to buy Rubicon MCZ caps from them a year or 2 ago. But I don't need any caps right now

Re: polymer caps
Is ripple current higher 6000 or equal safe when replacing a lower ripple current aluminum 1200 cap, for example?Last edited by halaster79; 10-05-2017, 03:04 AM.

Re: assessing internet purchases
do you guys consider the mesr-100 version 2 to be a good ESR reader?
i use an ideal 61-342 multi-meter and a honeytek A6013L capacitance tester to check capacitance. it takes the ideal longer to read it.

Re: assessing internet purchases
is it normal for the ESR to be lower than what it says in the datasheets? especially when it says the ESR number is for ESR max in the datasheets?Last edited by halaster79; 01-07-2017, 05:25 PM.

Re: assessing internet purchases
i thought they were ok as long as they are in the range of +- 20% capacitance according to the datasheets? 20% of 1500 is 300, so wouldn't around 1800 be ok? on a 1500 cap read by a honeytek a6013L at 2000uf

Re: assessing internet purchases
my 2005 nichicon hm 1500uf 6.3v all seem to be in 1770 to 1830 range for uf. are they good?

assessing internet purchases
why do Rubicon MCZ caps tend to have lower UF than whats shown on the side of the caps? it still is in 20% tolerance though. numbers include like 1140 uf for a 1200 uf 6.3v MCZ cap. these are dated 2010 caps bought from badcaps and the cap king.

Re: polymer caps
bored and looking at the Nichicon PLG series on digi-key. they seem to have really ultra low ESR if 9 means the same as .009 ESR on regular aluminum caps. some regular aluminum ultra low ESR caps are getting kinda hard to find, or are starting to get old, like the 1200uf 6.3v Rubicon MCZ, and some of the Nichicon HN and HZ series, or could be fakes.

polymer caps
is it safe to use aluminum polymer caps to replace the aluminum caps, as long as the uf and v are the same, they have the right diameter and wire space, and are of equal or lesser ESR, on a motherboard? in the datasheet when it says polymer cap ESR is 9, does that mean the same thing as .009 on an aluminum cap?
