Re: Pioneer pdp 6020fd no standby
Does anyone know if a remote from a different model pioneer plasma will work with this set? Another thing would be possibly using a harmony remote. I had one for my other tv but it broke so I was wondering if I should just order another one and program it to the pioneer also. I just need one to access the settings menu.

Re: Pioneer pdp 6020fd no standby
So far so good. It's funny too because he had an estimate of $450 to repair it.
I need to get an original remote control for it. The universal I have does not allow me to access the settings menu.
Thank you...

Re: Pioneer pdp 6020fd no standby
Tv is working. Didn't even have to take the back cover off.
I was in the process of removing the screws and saw the main power switch button. Pushed it in. Plugged tv in heard the start up click and had standby light. Turned it on and have been watching it for over an hour now. One thing I noticed is none of the fans are running. There are four fans at the top. Do these spin only when it gets hot enough?
Thank you...

Re: Pioneer pdp 6020fd no standby
I have downloaded a copy of the service manual. I will take the back off and take a look and report back with my findings. Hopefully it is something simple, there are not too many repair threads floating around for the set (a good thing) for me to get an idea of the problem. I saw another post and it looks like it was the y driver board.
Thank you...

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
I have sort of what you are talking about going on with mine. It is only seen in dark scenes. Like blacks and shadows are blocky and almost greenish. I have reseated the tcon cables and the ribbons going to the panel. I have even replaced the tcon with no change. Wonder if it is a panel issue now?

Pioneer pdp 6020fd no standby
Hello,
Just picked up a Pioneer pdp 6020fd that was told did not power on. Upon getting it home and plugging it in there is no standby light. Looking through the back cover there is a red led on a board that turns on when the power button is pressed and then goes out after about 5 seconds or so. No blinking. I have not removed the back cover yet. Also I do not have the remote for it. The person i got it from said they had it looked at and was told it was a power supply issue. Any ideas where I should start first? I am think possible capacitors on the power supply? Now if there was...

Re: Element eldfw501 no backlight
Hey thanks for the quick responses everyone.
Bottom of board looked good. I resoldered the connections down and check continuity.
I am going to check everything again with cable reconnected, I had to redo the two burnt pins. Will update shortly

Element eldfw501 no backlight
Hello,
Picked up an Element eldfw501 that has no backlight but shows picture during the flashlight test. Upon further inspection i found one of the bards and cable has a burned spot. Not sure what caused this? I am tryomg to check voltages coming from power supply but sure what they should be. There is no voltage chart on it....

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Have you checked your existing mosfet chip on the t-con board with multimeter and verified it is bad? It explains what to look for in the beginning of the thread....

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Then t-con board is working properly. You will need to check voltages going from power supply to LEDs.

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
So you did the flashlight test and have an image on the screen?

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
There are videos on YouTube showing how. Basically you turn the tv on and in a darkened room shine a bright flashlight onto the screen to see if you see any images. I used the flashlight on my iPhone to test mine.

Have you done the flashlight test to verify that the t-con is bad?

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
That was going to be my next step. I was also going to check the side panel driver ribbon cable also.
Thank you...

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Going through the thread again I came across this posting at #397.
This is exactly what I have going on. He tried a replacement mainboard and still no change....Last edited by splatee; 10-13-2016, 05:55 PM.

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Here is another pick of Avia calibration DVD that shows more of the issue. If you notice the bar that is suppose to be the darker shade of black has more of the noise as bad....

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Here are a few more pics. Also I just noticed one thing. The replacement board is labeled ZH and original is a ZG in the part #. It almost seems like the replacement is worse with the noise....

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Swapped out the t-con with the spare I got from eBay. Still same issue with the shadow/dark area of the picture with the noise. I did a factory reset from the service menu and went through the setup process.
If I set the gamma to 2.4 and black level to high I can clear it up a bit but I do not like the overall image. Also noticed that where the noise is it has a bluish tinge to it. If I go into the color correction and adjust I can clear it up some as well. I am wondering if this is a panel problem now?

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Thanks for the info. I had ordered a spare t-con just in case the original I could not fix. I will swap it out and see. As for cables I reseated all of them. I wonder if the LVDS cables may cause this as well? I ran across another post about on some vizios there was issues with green tinge in the blacks that was due to bad LVDS cables.
Thank you...
