Got this TV set from my Dad, he replaced it with a new Sony Bravia so I figured I'd try to get it working.

Typical no power on situation, red standby light stays on.

Only thing that makes this a little different, that I havent seen mentioned elsewhere is if you leave it unplugged for several minutes, then plug it back in the set will turn on, and work for about 3-5 minutes, sometimes more sometimes less, then you hear multiple pops/clicks from the speakers and it shuts itself off (blue power LED turns back to red) and after that it will not turn back on unless you...
