Re: LG 55LA740V Intermittent backlight band troubleshooting help.
Have a look at this. For sure I can not swap the cables since the pin-out on the connectors are mirrored?
One idea would be to try to fit the cables 180 degrees around, since the pins then would be in the right places. Not sure that this is even physically possible though. Don't want to fry anything...
Sorry for the blurry image......

Re: LG 55LA740V Intermittent backlight band troubleshooting help.
What is interesting is that on initial power up, before the logo is shown, the complete screen lights up - including the area that is darker.
It is after the logo has disappeared and the current input is being shown that the darker band appears.

Re: LG 55LA740V Intermittent backlight band troubleshooting help.
Thank you for your replies. I have some pictures and can upload them later, but I don't really think that they say anything more than the picture uploaded by budm (thanks for this).
(I am a software engineer by heart so I am kind of doing this with a "how damn hard could it be" attitude - so be gentle... ;-) )
Now, the measurements I did was the voltage between the VC_1-6 and LED+, where "VC_3" read 7V and the others 50V. Should I rather measure between...

LG 55LA740V Intermittent backlight band troubleshooting help.
Hi!
I have an intermittent issue with my LG 55LA740V LED TV that I would like some help diagnosing. Any ideas welcome.
A dark vertical band with about 1/6th of the screen width (probably a single LED strip) appears maybe 50% of the times I turn on the TV - the other 50%, it works just fine.
This is in detail what happens.
1. Power on - the panel goes up to high brightness. No band, all LED:s seem just fine.
2. It shows the LG Logo, and starts lowering the brightness of the panel.
3. The TV finishes booting and starts showing...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi!
Name is Thomas, Swedish software developer. I found this forum while searching for a solution to an odd backlight issue on my LG LED TV. Will probably compose a little troubleshooting-help-post in the TV forum.
