I'd like to thank you all for your comments and so forth.

My backlight failed, just like the others on my Sceptre X505BV-FMDR. Flashlight trick shows the LCD is working.

I'm guessing I have a bad backlight LED since I have an BL/ON of 4.6v

So since my BL/ON signal from the main board is on, should I be able to test for the drive voltage to the LED boards.

See the attached photo. I have marked it as to my guess as to which output is going to the LED's. If so, approximately what voltage should I expect...

Hey guys. I'm ESinclair in Houston, Texas USA. I have been an electronics tech all my life. I have worked in broadcast radio, industrial air monitoring, general R&D, laboratory test equipment, Industrial robotics (welding) phone systems, cable TV systems, network admin for Banyan Vines, Novell, OS/2, NT, Win2000, I worked installing car audio, home audio video, home automation etc. I'm a HAM radio operator, and race car driver as well.
