I've tried it to my mobo i've successfully flash the main and back up its original BIOS.
but why is that my EC chip are full of FF? I mean blank - without its random characters like the Main BIOS CHIP. also the EC file is blank.... -

First step to do when encountering a dead mobo
Hello Badcaps members.
I would like to know especially the members out there with massive experience.
What is the very first thing to do or first thing to check if I've encountered a totally black out motherboard? I mean a motherboard without indicator.
With multi meter what is the first thing you always check? Something that is common faulty piece on the motherboard. -

It's a coil bro right? The coil is shorted too. but some are not. and how can i supply a 5v power in my board, like what above you have said. he said that i must apply 3v or 5v then look for a heating part. are you working in SST Laptop?...Leave a comment:

I've done this I removed the processor. but what if its like an i3. some motherboards processor cant be remove.
So it means that I need to take those capacitors one by one and test them. What I did is that I tried the continuity of my multi meter and the continuity is always equal to some capacitors....Leave a comment:

Trouble finding the shorted parts.
I was diagnosing a laptop with a shorted capacitor or mosfet.
I cannot figure it out. The only weapon that I have is a analog multimeter "Sanwa" type.
Laptop is complete black and no Indicator. Is there such a technique to check those capacitors, diode, MOSFET in a way that I can pinpoint the problem in a good amount of time.
Is there a tutorial out here or and URL that you can share? or anything that becomes my resource? -
Acer Laptop Grounded Capacitor
I've encounter a totally blackout laptop with grounding capacitor. So with a little knowledge and know how with multimeter/tester.
Every capacitor is grounded. So I have to find the fault one. I've removed like 10+ capacitor. After that I've complete found the single capacitor that causes the havoc.
But. My point is that is there a way how can I ease this up without removing one by one and test it.
Will learning to read the schematics diagram can help me to pinpoint the error in a shorten time?
Any thoughts for this. THANKS! -

I am not good at reading the schematics. but I compared it inside my laptop and they are match. especially the writings on the chip. eg. EON EN25. etc.
but when it comes to flashing it ? I've already downloaded the oldest BIOS version for my laptop but it was 4.2MB and it has many files in it etc. QCL00A04.fd and many more. The bios is InsydeH20.
How does 4.2MB fit inside a 4MB or 2MB chip and what...Leave a comment:

How can I learn?
I know somewhere out there in this forum. I just wanted to ask somehow how can I learn chip level motherboard repair? like soldering, changing IC's and proper diagnostics. Is there any book or videos that you can advice to me. I mean a good book or video tutorials out there that I can learn and benefit from it. -
