Hey guys,
Hope i can get some advice here.
TV model : Sharp LC-40LE700M
Symptom : Power LED (green) ON but No image & No backlight. Also no sound
Attached are the photos but sorry no sunlight at the moment.
I measured the output on the power board
Top left connector (12 pins)

First of all, thank you for those who are still keeping this forum alive.
It has been a while since I posted.
Probably because most of the monitors are all plain sailing repairs, or I am shamelessly buying or swapping cheap power/logic boards. Hee.
Right now, I am facing with two big monsters, or should I say ‘white elephants’, which are ‘Dead’. One of them could be intermittently revived if NOT unplugged from the mains. Replaced the IC. However, in the process badly burnt a track as well and could not figure out where it was 'heading'. I tried to fire it up but is not working.
Eventually, I managed to get hold of a used board, fixed it and the monitor was working fine.
My deepest appreciation and thank you to all who replied in this thread.

Update :
Replaced the p-channel MOSFET with a FDN304P. It did not work well. End up I bought a replacement T-con & TV has been running fine so far.Leave a comment:

I took another photo this time after removing QP1. From what i see it is linking to pin 27 (Gate). From the MAX8727 datasheet page 14, it should be a p-channel MOSFET.Similar to FDN304P. I hope i am reading it correctly here....Leave a comment:

However, QP = transistors isn't it?. and mine is SOT-323/SOT-23. So i am still confused.. The closest i can guess is

Hi Guys,
I am working on this LCD TV
Problem : Black screen with No picture. Sound ok. Backlight is ON.
I disassembled it and suspected the TCON is faulty. TCON is V315B1-C05. Upon measuring some transistors & diodes on the TCON, I found QP1 (marked A3PA 1A) to be shorted. I removed it from the board and confirmed that indeed QP1is shorted off the board. Measuring on the same location on the board with QP1 removed shows it is not shorted. Hence, I will need to replace it but i do not know what is the exact transistor from the marking.

I am not sure how Q601 looks like or what is the top marking, but how about checking whether it is shorted out?. with power unplugged, i usually measure the resistance between the 3 legs.Leave a comment:

If it was me, i would replace ALL the capacitors except the BIG one with quality capacitors with low ESR (like Panasonic FC, FM,FK, etc). I am not too sure whether OST is low ESR that fit to be used in this application.
What is the resistance measurement of the pico fuse that you checked?
Without knowing the output voltages of the power board to the main board it is difficult to assist you even though how much we wanted to. You may also want to recheck the trace which was lifted while replacing the...Leave a comment:

You can start by chechking the 2 main fuse near the power cord. Also the 'Green' resistor beside the main capaitor and the 0.22ohms infront of the 2 mosfets in the middle of the board.
P/s: i gave up troubleshooting 3-4 boards of this model and replace them with another compatible power board set because mine all had transformer busted due to that darn yellow glue.Leave a comment:

If I was to repair this, i would replace ALL those caps (except the BIG one) and not only the bloated ones with quality, low ESR caps as a first step. You may want to check F200 (glass fuse beside the bloated caps, in the middle of the board) for open connection using a multimeter. If it is open, replace it as well. Good luck.Leave a comment:

Hi,
It could be the pico fuse (green fuse beside the BIG capacitor, almost in the middle of the power board) being open. If you have a multimeter, you can measure the resistance of it to confirm whether it is open or not.
p/s: Members here recommend to replace ALL the capacitors except the BIG one if one of them is seen to be bloated, etc. It is recommended to replace them with quality capacitors with low ESR.Leave a comment:

Hello. do you have a multimeter? Maybe you can start by measuring the voltages at CN2 from the bottom side of the board with all the boards hooked up. Place the black probe on the chasis and the red one on the individual solder joint on the bottom side. There is an indicator at the side of CN2 showing the correct voltages.
