Re: Samsung UN65MU6500FXZA won't turn on
What does the fail count voltage mean? The hair dryer maybe didn't get the chip hot enough as I wasn't directly targeting it. I will try hot air work station for heat.

Tried hair dryer already. So buy and try eeprom. If not throw it in a toaster oven 400f and see what happens because whatever.

Re: Samsung UN65MU6500FXZA won't turn on
I ended up getting down to the panel boards 3 green 1 blue and disconnecting the u cable one at a time and no change in the back light or lcd picture. I don't think the tv is coming out of standby mode. The red led blinks about every 30sec but it flash responds when pushed in all directions. So assuming it's in standby mode I tested the connection to the power supply.
Ana dim 45mv
Od on off 3.397v
Blu pwm. 43.7mv
Power on off 3.366v
Fail count. 3.345v
All 13v. 12.72v

Re: Samsung UN65MU6500FXZA won't turn on
Ok I didn't know to search outside of my specific model number. Un65 un55 are in the same samsung build style and diagnostics should be the similar. Got it will search some more. I'm lucky it's nice out and I am working on some mowers instead of smashing and breaking down the tv. Lol....

Re: Samsung UN65MU6500FXZA won't turn on
It's going to get the hammer and contractor bag trash treatment I guess. Shooting in the dark is not my style. I have not enough experience outside of led strip quick fixes to justify throwing money at something. There is only 2 topics that mentioned this model. Not a lot to go on

Also the main board heat sink is warm so is got to be processing something. Any ideas? I'll check back in the morning.

Re: Samsung UN65MU6500FXZA won't turn on
I just picked up this exact tv at the curb. Back light doesn't come on and screen doesn't show anything when I use my led tester to power the back light. Disconnecting the cable to the main board the back light powers on. The red led light on the bottom flashes in response to inputs from the select/power button but the optical port doesn't have a red light on inside it (is it supposed to?) Also detaching the ribbon cables from the main board connectors does nothing. Could a EPROM replacement fix my problem.

Re: Funai LF320FX4F Power Supply Issue?
I ended up fixing the board by pulling components from the one until I found the short. I then applied what I had learned to the Ebay bought one and fixed it. They were both A3AFNUH BA3AFCG0201 4 boards and they both had the same problem. Ceramic cap C3022 4.7 . I'm pretty sure that it was micro farad.

Re: Funai LF320FX4F Power Supply Issue?
I am having a issue where there is no power led and nothing turns on. Plug in the cord and there is humming from the power supply. When I disconnect the ribbon cable to the main board the humming stops. With the main board removed I check the main board grounds usb, coax and hdmi with the 21v pins and get a resistance of .6 ohms. I now have a used one from ebay and the same test yields 6.2 ohms. Are both boards shorted out and causing this issue?
By the way I have pulled the power supply caps and diodes and checked them out...

Re: lg lcd line pulsing?
On my panel the lines are not missing they are just slightly dimmer and pulse brighter. Should I assume that it is only a matter of time for this set? What steps did you go about before coming to your conclusion that it was the panel....

Re: lg lcd line pulsing?
Sorry about not putting the model number in the title. I just noticed thumbing through the stickies.

Re: lg lcd line pulsing?
I covered the left half of the screen and it looks like it may pass into the right half. I do know for sure that left side to middle the problem gradually decreases towards the middle....

Re: lg lcd line pulsing?
I have all ready done this and played with the ribbon cables on the lcd itself and no change. On a fast paced visuals it is barely noticeable. On loading screens and such you can see the "flashing". Also note that the pulsing is very consistent every 2 sec or so for the entire time it is on. I would guess a tcon board but I am not sure if it would cause this.
Thanks for the ideas and keep them coming!...

Re: lg lcd line pulsing?
A photo is a no go. It won't show up in a pic. 100% positive it's not the led blacklight. I actually took a magnifying glass and watched every other row pulse dim to bright. :-)

lg lcd line pulsing?
Hi i have a Lg 42ln5400-ua lcd tv with a issue. On the left side every other horizontal row of crystals are slightly dimmer and pulse every 2 sec or so. They pulse to the same brightness as the rest of the display. This is happening every other row from top to bottom even in the menu selection screens. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.Last edited by colt45lush; 05-03-2016, 03:45 PM.
