Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
The two ribbons going to the driver are Good. I can interchange them and it works the same. I dont know about the ribbon going to the T-con though, it is unidirectional so I can't flip it.

Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
From this point I imagine the Driver board is at fault. I don't have a schematic for the TV, so I can't really test it. I hope it might be the cable(MAIN TO TCON), which shows some wear. though, I would like opinions from the experts.

Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
Another interesting tidbit; When I don't plug in the cable going into the left side from the T-con board, the snow disappears, but that side of the screen is lit a different color than the right.
When none are plugged in, both sides appear to light up the same.Last edited by acidophilus; 07-06-2010, 11:27 PM.

Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
I just replaced the T-con board and no such luck. The whole screen lights up, but only half shows the snow and menu. The other half stays dark.

Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
What are my options for dealing with the t-con board? I suspected that was the problem after researching a little more, and most of the solution was getting a new board. I suspect that is my only option, but I would prefer fixing this board, if possible....

Here is that board. I don't see any noticeable problems....

Re: Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
When I disconnect both cables the whole screen is black. I plugged functioning output into the non-functioning input s and I got a horizontal white bar that went across both sections, and the opposite side of the screen was all yellow and distorted. I will try and take a picture.

Half screen on Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u
I recently acquired a Sharp Aquos LC-32d64u LCD. Half the screen turns on and works, as pictured, and the other half doesn't. There had been some work on it due to a bad PSU, and it was replaced.
I will not be able to really work on it until this week, but I was just curious if anyone had any experience with a problem like this, and could offer some initial guidance before I start working. Thanks

Re: fujitsu pds4222w-s Plasmavision TV
Thanks, I actually picked a DMM up that can measure capacitance. I have to replace a fuel filter on my truck then I should be able to get back to the TV. I will update with my progress!...

Re: LTV32 w1 westinghouse tv
If the unit is working, the Blue LED light can be controlled via the television software. If you want step by step instructions on how to turn it on, let me know and I would be glad to go through it once I get home tonight.
I realize it might be a different problem for you, but if you are able to, I suggest trying the software approach; it might be as simple as pushing some buttons...

Re: fujitsu pds4222w-s Plasmavision TV
I am aware of this, though I was hoping to be able to narrow down the problem to a specific board. I was under the impression that by testing voltage output from the board it would let me know where the problem was, or at least lead me in the right direction. I am doing this for fun and to learn.
Thanks for any help....

Re: fujitsu pds4222w-s Plasmavision TV
Ok, The outputs are labeled as such:
VCC1
GND VCC1
VE
GND VE
GND VS
GND VS
VA
GND VA
VS
VS
Using a multimeter I was planning on testing each one of these for voltage. How much voltage should I be expecting coming through these? (I was going to test 250V AC)

Re: fujitsu pds4222w-s Plasmavision TV
I have tested electronics before, and completed a physics course on circuits and what not. I only have an analog multimeter, but it should work. I'm willing to try.
Though my knowledge is limited, I'm trying to learn....Last edited by acidophilus; 05-17-2010, 08:23 PM.

I found these on the IC board. the one with the purple on the top seems to be a little swollen....
