Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
No. The x board connects to the power supply via y board. The only time get anything like normal is when I disconnect both y and x. Then I get a chime but no picture....

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
You're right I definitely do. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around some concepts though. If you're not out of patience yet I think I figured it out. For instance I tested the vs on the x board and it did beep. This would indicate a short or no resistance or short Circuit which might be why the tv isn't turning on to prevent a dangerous situation. However on VA on the y board there is no beep but also no resistance. Could that indicate an open Circuit on that board?...

I don't see a fuse on this board....

Re: VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
I installed lights and it did the same thing. In the end I gutted the unit and tossed it. I was sick of dealing with it. I replaced the leds, psu, and main board and nothing changed. I was having the same issue as before, either it was not the lights or the lights I received were bad. Either way, I tossed the f****r....

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
Hi, so I was confused, you said three tests but to test each pin together. Is it possible to explain what I should be getting and why? I wanted to be thorough so I tested EACH pin together and here are my results:
To Ground;
Pin 1: 20< (the reading kept increasing starting below 10 so I stopped after 20
Pin 2: 1.8
Pin 3: 13.23
Pin 4: 1.9
Pin 5: OL
Pin 6: OL
To Each Pin:
Pins Pin 1 Pin 2 Pin 3 Pin 4 Pin 5 Pin 6
Pin 1 x 21.81 0.719 0.7 OL OL...

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
Thanks for your help. With one probe on either pin 5 or 6 and the other probe on a ground screw I get OL....

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
I'm trying to learn, that's why I'm here. The VS input is shorted to ground. Is there anything else you can help me with?...

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
By using a multimeter in ohms mode test both VS pins 5 and 6 and it read 0000. No short to ground, is that correct?...Last edited by Hiatsu2k8; 05-11-2016, 03:54 PM.

Re: pn50b450b1d No Power
No, I did not. I apologize, I'm not familiar with how to do that. If you could please explain I'm sure I will catch on quick though. The pictures are attached....Last edited by Hiatsu2k8; 05-11-2016, 03:56 PM.

What are igbt? I'm interested in learning how to isolate the problem. I should have all the tools to diagnose. Thanks...

Pin 5 and 6 are both VS, I'm assuming the black wire is the ground. Is that what you mean by short to ground?...

pn50b450b1d No Power
Hi and thanks for looking!
I believe I've determined the problem but wanted to run it by you guys to see if I'm correct.
I have a pn50b450b1d that doesn't turn on. It's the classic clicking issue that a lot of plasmas have. I will upload images but there are no visably damaged capacitors. VA should be 55 and vs should be 209. When I plug in I get nothing close to those to values. A small spike and then nothing. When I unplug both the X and Y board from main I get the correct values immediately at power on but then they slow drop off to 0. I tried checking the values...

Re: VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
I tried disconnecting the leds but the probe isn't small enough to get a reading from the cable connecting the lights to the power board. Anyway, at switch on, which was me just plugging in television in to a power source with the ps-on pin jumped to 3.3v, it certainly does spike to 380 volts and then jumps down to 100+ volts and repeats for a few seconds. Then it remains steady around 3-6 volts and does nothing else. I will be purchasing the back lights in the next few days. However, I'm still concerned about...

Re: VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
Each pin was right around 5v. They would fluctuate between 3.5 to 6v up and down. A couple of pins were steady at 5. What was more confusing was on certain parts of the chassis I got fluctuating readings but they were much higher, in the 100s. I had the ps-on pin shorted to the 3.3v while I did this....

Re: VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
All 4 diodes read around .43V with Negative on the silver side and OL when switched. Am assuming this is correct that it's because they are allowing current through one way but not as much through the other? This makes me think they are working correctly.
Concerning reading the other pins, I was already fairly sure that the back lights were the issue now I'm trying to understand why. The labels are confusing me when they say VLED 1-2- and 1-2+ does that mean I need to use the positive...

Re: VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
To do this I should test pin 12 or 11? Or am I testing the other connection on the bottom left. I'm assuming it's the pins that read VLED 1-2- etc... I'll check them and get back to you while I'm waiting for a reply. Concerning "switch on", must I short PS-ON pin 3 to "switch on"?
Thanks...

VIZIO e601i-a3 No Stby Light but Stby Voltage Good.
Hello All!
When I got the television it was not powering on and the person told me that they heard a loud pop and then it turned off. This person replaced the fuse but it kept blowing. Once I had the television I confirmed that, yes the fuse was blowing whenever it was replaced. There was no standby light and the replacement power board was not expensive so I opted for a replacement immediately. Link to image of original board is attached.
Once the new board was installed the fuse no longer blew but I was still not getting a standby light. Putting the meter up to...
