  • 3.4mm X 950mm CCFLs for AUO Panels

Hi. I have twenty-five (25) new (and used) cold-cathode fluorescent tubes for 42" AUO LCD television panels. Lamps are 3.4mm (.130 in) in diameter, and 950mm (37.4 in) long. No modifications necessary for these AUO panels. These are from a Sanyo DP-42848 television that had the classic 'two seconds to black' condition. I got this one repaired, only to learn that it had a bad LCD panel. I state 'new and used' as I purchased 18 new ones from China, but there were a few that were broken in transit, so I had to use a few of my used ones. I no longer know which are new and which are used. All...

  • Re: TC-P55GT30, 8 Blinks, Poor Picture Quality

This set didn't have an SC board when I got it, so I have no way to tell what suffix it had. The one I installed has no suffix. As for Ysus voltage, the manual shows only an adjustment in service mode - you're only able to set the voltage to 'low' or 'high'. The only trim pots I have on the power supply board are Vsus and Vda. I'll check the voltage, or maybe try to get into service mode before it shuts down and adjust Ysus. But if you suspect an SC failure, why the 8 blinks, that indicated an SS failure?

  • TC-P55GT30, 8 Blinks, Poor Picture Quality

I'm working on a TC-P55GT30 that I received without an SC board. I purchased on on eBay, and still had no picture. Replaced both buffer boards, and now I have a picture, but it's very low quality (grainy, high contrast - it's the same in 'menu' mode). But now it shuts down after a minute or so, and gives me and 8-blink code, which points to the SS board. Replaced that as well, and it's the same. I have green LEDs on the SC and SS board (while it's on). Any ideas?...

  • CCF Lamps for AUO 42" Panels, Sanyo DP42848

Hi. I have twenty-two (22) new (and used) cold-cathode fluorescent tubes for 42" AUO LCD television panels. Lamps are 3.4mm ( .130 in) in diameter, and 950mm (37.4 in) long. No modifications necessary for these AUO panels - they'll plug right in. I no longer know which are new...

  • Re: Samsung UN48H4005

Quick update. Since I had backlights, I figured the power supply to be good. i purchased a main board on eBay for $12.00 (shipped), and it works. Thanks for your input.

Hamie, no change when you disconnect the ribbon cable between the main board and the panel. And thank you thoma, I'll take a look at the manual and see if I can learn anything.

  • Re: Samsung UN48H4005

From what I can tell, this model does not have a separate TCON. The only other board is the board that is directly connected to the ribbon cables that come from the LCD panel.

New information as well as the photos. When I disconnect the cable between the power supply and the main board, the backlights com on. No picture, but backlights....

  • Samsung UN48H4005

Anyone have any experience with the Samsung UN48h4005? All I get is a red LED in the remote sensor area on the front of the TV. I have 180VDC and 280VDC at connector CNL802 (to ground), and at connector CNM803 - 13VDC at pins 1, 3, 5 and 7, 3.3VDC at pin 2, .77 at pin 4, and 5.5 at pin 6. JP815 says 8V in standby, and 13V on, but it's always 13V whether you push the on-off button or not.

  • TNPA5349/TNPA5351 - Adding a third 30F131?

I'm working on a couple of TNPA5349/TNPA5351 SC/SN boards, and both have shorted 30F131s – Q401 & Q402, Q421 & Q422. But there are additional pads, unused, marked Q403 & Q423. I don't have a schematic, but they look like they are in the circuit the same as the aforementioned pairs of 30F131s. Has anyone installed 30F131s on these pads (adding the resistors, of course) and increased the longevity of the repair with three 30F131s in the circuit? I've read that the board will work with only one 30F131 in the circuit. I've also just read about damaged pads on one, bypassing it, and installing...

  • Re: Samsung HPS5053 Vertical Bars

That's what I was afraid of, but wanted someone with more knowledge about these than I have to confirm it. Anyone need any HPS5053 boards?

  • Re: Samsung HPS5053 Vertical Bars

Thanks for responding. All of the voltages are spot-on. Panel readings (in parenthesis) vs actual - VA, (65) 65, VSCh (-70) -70, VSC (-190) -190, Vset (190) 190, VS (198) was 200, brought it down to 198. The photo shows what it was doing when I first got it. Now I have a picture, but the same bars on the right side....

  • Samsung HPS5053 Vertical Bars

I need some help. I have a Philips 50PF9631D/37, but the display is a Samsung, and from what I can determine, it's an HPS5053. I finally got a picture on the panel (as shown in the first photo). I checked the large ICs (based on what I'd learned on another thread - thanks Nick's TVs), so I replaced the Y main.
Now I get a better quality image (photo 2), but I have vertical 'spark-lies' on the left side, and three bad vertical bars on the right - one completely black. I thought I had a bad display panel - until I looked again at the original image. The first photo looks like the first...

  • Re: LG 60PA5500 No VSC or VY Voltage

Don't mean to cause problems, but Vsc is not VY on an LG. I'm no technician, but the label shows readings for both Vsc (150) and VY (-185). In addition, there are two test points on the YSUS board, clearly marked VSC and VY.
Buffers have been replaced (and checked). With the buffers removed, still no Vsc.

Should read "Vsc is still non-existent".

  • Re: LG 60PA5500 No VSC or VY Voltage

After taking a break from this, I'm ready to try again. I've had the YSUS board checked, and found no problems. Here is a little more information. With the buffer boards disconnected, I do get a good VY voltage (185V), but with the leads +to+ and -to-, it gives a positive voltage. The tag says VY should be -185V. Also, Vsc in still nonresistant. One other thing. I've never had any sound on this - no static, no hum, nothing. With no video I can't change the inputs to even see if it's getting a signal to produce audio, but, nothing. Could the main...

  • Philips 50PF9631d/37 Poor Picture Quality

I don't have any history on this - I purchased it 'apart'. The first photo shows what was displayed before the previous owner took it apart - taken by him. I have it to the point where it will show a picture, albeit badly distorted. And when you put it into 'menu' mode, it displays the menu, but with a strong yellow tint. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance....

  • Re: Sanyo dp42848 - T-Con or LCD Panel Problem?

Here's is what I have now. From the front of the TV, with the left side ZIF ribbon cable disconnected (affects right side of screen) Image4. With the right side disconnected, Image5. With both connected, Image7, but then, Image8. I've lost the image altogether.
One thing I forgot to mention is when I had an image, the right side of the screen was really 'slow'. That is, the image would linger and fade slowly away. If you had it just showing 'no signal', the 'no signal' image would jump around the screen normally, but when it...
