Re: OEM TV: black screen, backlight OK, sound OK, no voltages on TCON
Hi, no it is still sitting on my bench xD
But if half you screen is working at least there is hope, i guess! Sounds to me like just a loose connection of one flatflex etc.

Re: Bakon BK950D
So does your Bakon 950D run with 75W out of the box? I wonder if I got a fake one, if all 950D units are only 45W and always were, or if Bakon secretly changed the product some time ago?
The seller offered me 3 USD discount, I am still not clear what to think of all this. Damn …

Re: Bakon BK950D
Hello, I also got a Bakon 950D, 75W soldering station. Did you guys check with a power meter? My unit uses much less power than claimed. A T12 tip is about 8 Ohm, the station outputs ~19V, which gives only 45W.
Google this: UnionTest UW501
That is a (russian) station that looks pretty identical to the 950D, but it truthfully claims only 45W. I have the suspicion that many 950D units which are advertized as 75W are in fact only 45W. So, 40% less powerful. I feel a little bit cheated. Did I miss something?...Last edited by miksi; 07-14-2017, 09:58 AM.

Re: Question regarding: HAVDD, HVIN, VONE, VOFFE
You're right, toying with a TCON board brought my attention tho those four termini! You think they are unique to TCON boards? From the TI.com website and docs I am not able to deduce a distinct definition for HAVDD, HVIN, VONE, VOFFE; they are mentioned in some spots and part of TI's description what their product does, but I still cannot figure out what the different is between VOFF and VOFFE, or VIN_12V and HVIN_12V.

Question regarding: HAVDD, HVIN, VONE, VOFFE
Hello people!
My knowledge so far:
AVDD = positive voltage of analog circuit
VIN = input voltage
But what does the "H" prefix mean? I heard two different things:
1. It stands for HIGH, meaning HAVDD is an upscaled version of AVDD.
2. It stands for HALF, meaning HAVDD is AVDD/2.
Both explanations make no sense when I look at my PCB and find the following markings: VIN_12V and HVIN_12V. That obviously tells us explicitly that both points have "12V" and VIN was not just Halfed nor High'ed, so I am confused....

I unsoldered the CT27 cap, both its pads still short to ground. weird stuff (for me).
Here is a animated GIF image to show the backside of the area.Re: OEM TV: black screen, backlight OK, sound OK, no voltages on TCON

Re: OEM TV: black screen, backlight OK, sound OK, no voltages on TCON
I measured the resistance of all caps on the TCON (in circuit) and got results ranging between mega-Ohms and zero Ohms. I guess the next step is to unsolder the cap measuring 0 Ohms and test out-circuit. I attached a picture showing the CT27 cap measuring 0 Ohm in circuit and a weird region of unnamed cap-like components to its right where several measure 220 Ohms and 0 Ohms as well. Some are of slight darker color, maybe intentional "bridges"...

OEM TV: black screen, backlight OK, sound OK, no voltages on TCON
Hello everybody. I have this 40" LED TV:
But the screen stays black when turned on. Power LED, backlight LEDs and sound works. The mainboard successfully feeds 12v input voltage to the TCON if TV is powered on. But according to the various testpoints on the TCON board, it seems the TCON is unable to produce the other required voltages for the panel.
The attached image shows the TCON board on which i marked interesting testpoints in red. When TV is powered on, these testpoints measure:

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hello everybody, I recently got a cheapo TV and I will make it my hobby to repair it. that is why i registered here in the first place
Maybe i can contribute a little bit myself, gladly would do so. Well see you around then!
