Re: Sony EX-2N chassis flash problem, Sony bulletin 12TV026.
So to be clear, this problem is just for the listed 2009 Sony Bravia model's released in Europe?

Re: UE40D5000 red led blinking (PSU, Main board and T-con changed)
If it is the BGA solder on the main board's CPU, you could try heating the CPU to melt/reflow the solder as a workaround. It is not a guaranteed fix and there is a good chance the problem will show up again at a later date, but it is low or no cost option and may get you a few more months or more of use from the set without having to replace the whole board.

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Okay, so I thought I would try an experiment, I cut the cable just below the damaged pins and clipped off the 2 side tabs (see the red lines in the first photo below). After a very careful re-insertion.... No more lines!!!
Anyone know if there would be any problems / side effects with this repair I should worry about or am I in the clear?...

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Well, just installed new backlights and put the TV back together just enough to get a pitcture and... well... yeah...
Vertical lines on half the screen.
I'm guessing it's either a problem with one of the ribbon cables or one of the tab ICs. So frustrating, the panel seemed to be working just fine when I did the flashlight test a few hours ago.
edit: Looks like it's the left ribbon cable. Some pins seem to have gotten chipped near the top:

Re: Light Filter Order (LG 39LN5700)?
That would have been ideal. When I took the TV apart the first time I thought it was a lost cause and wasn't paying much attention to where everything went.

Light Filter Order (LG 39LN5700)?
I was getting ready to replace the LED backlights on the LG 39LN5700 I'm working on, but I'm not sure if I put the TV's four light filters / diffusers on in the correct order the last time I took the TV apart. Does anyone know the correct order these are supposed to be in?
I've attached a picture of the light filters for the TV. I thought it would be 1-2-3-4 (from bottom to top) with the display going on top of four....Last edited by pgram; 07-05-2016, 07:23 PM.

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Very delayed update. I did some more research and it seems NR887D cannot be used as a substitute for NR891D (different voltages), so I went ahead and ordered NR891D from a Chinese supplier. There was some issues with the order and it took well over a month to finally get the part, but I did eventually receive it.
Well, I just installed it today and it seem like NR891D was the sole source of my problems. The TV (sans backlight) now appears to be working again and an image was visible when I held...

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
2.1V is worst case? I'm reading 4.1V at IC202's pin 7 using the TV's chassis as a ground when the TV is plugged in.
On a different note, could NR887D be used as a substitute for NR891D? I'm not seeing any reputable vendors selling NR891D, but NR887D is widely available....

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Would it just be IC202 that's bad in this circuit? I did verify a resistance under 1 Ohm between pin 2 and the 24V pin 9 on P201 (18 pin connector), but I also wasn't seeing voltages anywhere close to 12V at R238 as shown on the left side of the schematic.

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Update! After a lot more searching, I think I found a better schematic for the Power Supply Board. This is for the LGP42-13PL1 PCB and not my TV's LGP3739-13PL1, but it should be very close to (if not the actual) schematic.
The important thing to note is the difference from the last schematic I posted (for a 32" LG). From the looks of it, the 12V supply may actually originate before IC202. Unlike the last schematic, this one has 12V going into IC202 instead of 24V (it also has C225 on the...Last edited by pgram; 05-12-2016, 08:38 AM.

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Triple checked, these should all be correct:
Voltage:
IC202 pin 7 to Chassis GND: 4.1 v
IC202 pin 2 to Chassis GND: 23.6 v
Resistance (Ohms):

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Yeah, I made a mistake on the resistance measurements in post #19, the zero measure was actually from pin 5 instead of pin 4 (I had the sides of IC202 reversed).
Corrected:
Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
I think I may have made a mistake in my resistance measurements in the last post, I'll have to double check those.
For the IC202 pins:
Between IC202 pin 3 SW (red) and Chassis GND (black): 131k
Between IC202 pin 3 SW (black) and Chassis GND (red): 116k

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
More measurements after looking at the schematic in my last post:
Voltage readings with TV plugged in, but powered off:
J44: 23.7v
C217: 4.7v
IC202 pin 7: 4.1v
R233 (both sides): 0v
L201 pin 1: 0.18v
L201 pin 8: 0.18v
Resistance measurements:
IC202 pin 4: 0 Ohms
L201 pin 5: 990 Ohms
I've attached an updated picture of the top of the Power Supply PCB with better labeling.Code:Re: LG 39LN5700,

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Actually I take back my earlier reply. I couldn't find the exact Power Supply Board schematic there, but I think I may have found one close enough to use as a guide. This one looks to have a lot of the same P/Ns (see attachment). Thanks for that link.
The screenshot was taken from the schematic for the "Power supply + LED drv LGP32-13PL1 EAX64905001 EAY62810301", I think it's this...Last edited by pgram; 05-08-2016, 05:38 PM.

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
Thanks for the link, unfortunately it doesn't look like they have anything for the TV's Power Supply (EAY62810401 / EAX64905301) or L201 (it's labeled with "13S-DD06 FL 121218 F"). A Google site search didn't give me anything useful.
Hard not to laugh reading this in the registration requirements when they have a big old Colorado down in the lower right hand corner, seems ridiculously contradictory....Last edited by pgram; 05-08-2016, 10:31 AM.

Re: LG 47LN5790 badly burnt out LEDs
Out of curiosity, who was the panel manufacturer? The LG I have was made in China by Cheesung Electronics Co., LTD. The TV itself was "assembled in Mexico" (Factory ID: GX).

Re: LG 39LN5700, TV shuts off immediately after being turned on, no picture
I noticed the PCB was translucent, so I shined a lot of light on one side of the board and took a photo of the other side. Then I used GIMP (image editor) to flip the photo and overlay it onto the one from shopjimmy.com.

I wasn't able to find anything using the labeling on L201. I'm not sure what the label is on D206, maybe "B86...
