Re: Mac EFI Toolkit
It says Assets/met.pfx is password protected on compilation attempt. It requests password to import a certificate with sn.exe
Any solution to this? Cheers

Re: Need A1708--820-00840-01 schematic with boardview
What a strange subtle difference between two 2016 and 2017 models, huh. I realized they're so different when failed to found two elements on the schematics I've got 8-) Thanks, mate!

Re: Liquid damaged 820-00165A starts only when heated up.
Attached the photo of the region where the heating worked better. IMHO as it is now the board looks clean. All the residue on the photo is the flux cleaner stains, not liquid. Now it gets interesting. I replaced the EFI chip again with the brand new one. I do this a few times per day, so not a big deal to reprogram it with the new clean EFI with clean ME region. I have three absolutely identical boards with different type of damage, so I tested this EFI dump on others two and it works perfectly well. All three boards have...Last edited by Sergioz; 04-05-2019, 01:58 AM.

Re: MacBook Air 2015 (820-00165-A)
Try to look for small components with tiny corrosion, especially on some mosfets. I had similar issues when Q8062 had corrosion on it. Had to replace it with the donor board component.
Also, although on different board, I had the similar issue with boot freezing on 820-3662, in that case I had to replace and rewire the Q1920 due to few pads being ripped off.

Hi everyone.
I have the board 820-00165A which starts only heated up. Replaced components due to slight liquid damage are: C7797, U7501, U7600, U6101, R7641, U6100, R6130, R6132, R1440, R1445, R1344. Cleaned in Ultrasonic cleaner.
Now, the weird thing, it was going for quite some time, then after a couple of weeks it died. U6100 and U6101 were replaced when I tried to heat up the area and it booted again. Had one leg under U6101 dried, but there were no visible corrosion on the outside!
After that I dig up further and discovered that once the board...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi, guys. First of all, thanks for all your help with posting board views and schematics. I might be not posting much but I always follow your threads and suggestions for quite a while now. My name is Sergio. And for now I live in New Zealand. I fix Apple stuff, mostly. And majority of my repairs are the laptops. I don’t drink alcohol at all and I’m not a vegan). BTW, I’ve got a question to ask about Gmux IC switcher made by Lattice but I’m not sure where to post it. Just need help with choosing the correct...
