Re: Help identify SMD capacitor
Came across this link that makes a little more sense. Looks like two different marking standards for the same component value. Capacitors usually have a line under and not above so that was part of the confusion whether it was u1 or 1n.

1st picture
line above = C0G (NP0) dieletric
u = 5.6 pF
1 = 10^1
2nd picture
v = 35V
u = 5.6 pF
1 = 10^1
So, it looks like...

Re: Help identify SMD capacitor
Black 330 component is a 33 ohm resistor that goes with R17 silk screening. It's the component immediately to the left that I'm after.

Are you by chance blocking photobucket.com? It shows up on my other devices but I went ahead and uploaded directly.

Help identify SMD capacitor
Please help identify value of capacitor at C20. On some boards it looks like underlined 1n (1st photo) while on other boards it looks like vu1 without line (2nd photo). Most of the time the color is not tan but lighter grey (better tolerance?). Could it be 1nF or 1000pF perhaps 5% tolerance or better? I'm repairing a board that has it missing and trying to find the value. Next step is perhaps buy a DIY ESR. Thanks in advance.
