I am thinking that the Wd1002 is a little too much solder station for me. Does anyone have advice on the type of station I should buy? I need something for light soldering, borderline hobby stuff and saw this station [URL=http://www.all-spec.com/1/viewitem/wesd51/ALLSPEC/prodinfo/w3path=cat]Weller wesd51[/URL] . I am trying not to break the bank on more than I need, this one is more than $100 less!

I really appreciate the feedback. It looks like the quality is there? Does anyone know of a good site that would have side by side comparisons of lets say the weller Wd1002 & the wd1001?

Any reviews before I pull the trigger? Where to buy? I heard [URL=http://www.all-spec.com/start/weller.html]all-spec[/URL] has a good sale on this station but I don't know their reputation and service.

I think the stations you mentioned will serve you well. For what you want to do this staion will do.
