Re: pioneer deh-p7800mp ribbon replacement
still no replies huh.
well let me say the screen worked prior to replacing the cable.
elementary knowledge tells me this..
if there was a kink in the ribbon cable, the capacity of the trace would become increasingly less as the trace began to break.
there's only two ways to go about it from there:
1. the crack in the trace causes the connection to weaken, heat would build up eroding the connection from evaporation accelerating the break in the trace.
2. the screen's resistance follows...

my faceplate was going out with signs that grew increasingly worse.
replaced the ribbon cable & the screen doesn't come on.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
wondering if this forum will be a place i frequent without abuse, or if i'll be banned regardless of my abnormal level of attention to detail.
i've been using this screen name for about ten? years, and when it gets banned there really isn't any other screen name i'd rather use; hence i don't go back.
i'm usually the one that will go on and on with a post because of details and i don't really care about the length, other than the fact that there are many who choose to isolate themselves with|without|from details....
