Re: Vizio M70-C3
Yeah...I couldn't see any way to deal with the cut ribbon. To bad they don't make the ends on the LCD end with female adapter where the ribbons could be pulled/replaced.
After very close inspection, the panel does separate that spans two of those ribbon lengths, where the vertical line are. the crack is about a 1.2 in long across the ribbon and I've never been successful with ribbon issues (had to throw an Asus tablet away for a similar reason (after hacking it to hell). Once a panel starts separating like that is it repairable (meaning can you apply...

Re: Vizio M70-C3
Found the issue...looking for advice from the experts if it's repairable.
I had to take the frame off to get to the green circuit boards that I assume power LED strips. The cable from the green board to the LED on the black vertical line is cracked. There is some sticky substance on that piece of the board and the one next to it (the vertical line that is intermittent), and it looks kind of burnt. I haven't pulled the panel off, where the cable with the crack leads to. Is the other end similar? How are these connected...it doesn't appear to be soldered,...Last edited by namdam; 06-12-2016, 09:23 PM.

Re: Vizio M70-C3
A pic of the black line attached. A quick scan of the boards and cards and don't see anything disconnected, etc.
Any ideas where to start?
Note...hard to see in the pic but there is another vertical line/section the same size right to the left of the solid black one that is flickering (similar to how my laptop screen would show lines and you could press on it to make them go away...pressing doesn't do anything here :-))....Last edited by namdam; 06-12-2016, 02:24 PM.

Re: Vizio M70-C3
Quick update...the issue is a 6" wide black line down the center of the TV (vertical). Right and left of the line everything looks fine. Going to take some getting used to with this 4K screen. didn't plug anything in, but did add it to my WIFI and the images from the network look like negatives. Normal?

Vizio M70-C3
Every now and then I get the urge to scan Craigslist for free "stuff". Someone had just submitted a post on a free pickup of a Visio 70 Smart TV. I called, it was there but they needed it out that night, so I went and grabbed it.
Turns out it's less then a year old 4k 70", Amazon link here: https://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-M70-C3-70-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B00T63YVAM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1465749621&sr=8-3&keywords=m70+c3+vizio
I did ask why they're getting rid of it and it was due to a line down the middle and right part of screen having...Last edited by namdam; 06-12-2016, 10:47 AM.

Re: Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
Back on the site for another post, and noticed that "budm" had asked about the thermistor on this one. Yes that was the once I ordered.
This thread is closed in my book. BadCaps rocks with the information available for a DIY enthusiast!

Re: Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
Well...I just found my answer in another post. This site is amazing...but there is almost too much information. I've spent a couple hours at least on this. Going down another avenue on google it sent me back here to the post from "pokepoke0610; Samsung S64FH Sound but no picture then no power" I'M NOT COMPLAINING THOUGH..Love it.
This part is called out: "The closest inrush current limiter I could find on Digikey appears to be a Cantherm MF72-008D15."
Looks like I'll be ordering that....

Re: Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
Also, on the previous pics I just posted of the LED strip, there are different shades of the middle where some are much darker than others. Is this a sign of them starting to "burn out"? I ddn't think this was a problem with LEDs. If it is, is there a life expectancy that I should care about when I do get this back together (note the "when" not "if").

Re: Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
Got a couple pics...no numbers on that component...not that i can see. You can see the circle on the motherboard that says "BONDING", with the two broken leads. Those are the leads off the broken green piece which is the same size as the blue ceramic disc capacitor next to it.
Also have pics of the LED that was off right side strip when I pulled the panel apart...the reason for the blank screen I imagine. The other pic is the bottom the same strip, where the 3 black marks are three more burned out LEDs....

Re: Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
Thanks for the responses.
The tv has the two 100 LED right and left strips. The right strip had 1 LED that was broken off, and there are two more burnt out but still on the strip. Read all the posts by mmartell and others and know that is most likely the original problem.
Before figuring that out I wound up busting the green piece in question close to the TV plug in. It does not have any numbers on it and the pic is a copy of another board already on here. Are we sure it's a thermistor..still looking...

Need Samsung Power Supply Part Identification
In the process of troubleshooting my 55" UN55D6060, I wound up breaking a large green ceramic disk capacitor (or that's what it looks like. The part is in the attached image of a screenshot already on this site.
Can anybody tell me what this is and where I can get another? Please take a look at my attacment and I have any options....

NFG for now...howdy from sunny SoCal (except today it's raining)
New member...lots of good info on this site's forums. I've been successful in the past on a couple monitors with cap issues. Just recently our 55" Samsung UN55D6060 tv stopped working...one day works, next day it doesn't. We had bought it in 2011 through costco, with AMEX and got the square trade extended warranty (5 yrs total). Called it in, and square trade, ordered all three boards and sent a tech out to replace them. He was unsuccessful, said it was a panel issue and square trade sent us a 2015 Samsung 55"...
