Hi all,
A friend's LG TV has a similar problem to that posted here and I am wondering if the optocoupler fix would apply to this tv as well.
There a few bulging caps on the power supply and these were replaced but the problem persists.
Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Sanyo DP 50747 50" plasma/Stopped working-No video
Hi
I am helping a friend with a Sanyo PD 50 who is having similar no picture no sound issues, TV switching off after a few seconds and burning smell.
We have replaced some swollen caps on the power supply board - now the power switch stays on when switched on, burning smell stopped.
Still no sound and no picture. Plugged in a dvd player - no change - no sound no picture.
Any advice how to proceed from here?
Thanks.

Re: Sanyo PDP50XRDA no picture no sound
Hi
I am trying to help a friend whose Sanyo tv suddenly stopped displaying picture and sound. The tv does power up as the pilot lights turn red (Standby) to blue (on). I have successfully repaired a Philips plasma so when asked to assist I took on the challenge.
Initially, the tv would switch on from standby blue light would flash and then after a few seconds there would be a soft click and red light would come on again. Since replacing some caps in ps this return to stand appears to have been resolved. Still...

Re: Philips 42PF9630A/37 horizontal lines
A friend has offered me his Philips 42inch plasma TV after describing a similar 'horizontal lines' problem with display regardless of input source.
Any new suggestions or experiences to share?

Re: VierwSonic VX922 and VX724 Bad CapXon
Just completed a successful repair to Viewsonic VX922 - thanks to the detailed instructions and advice provided by people on this site. Another piece of electronic equipment not going to the junk pile - you are all doing your bit to save our planet.
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!
Pity we can't desolder and replace some caps to change people's attitudes to waste and pollution.
Thanks everyone for sharing your problems and posting pics of the powersupply boards and caps.
