Hello friend, how were you able to solve the problem of the Lenovo Yoga with CYPD4226 chip, mine was also short circuited, and I bridged the 3.3v rail to pin 9 of u38/u227, to enable the CCG4_VBUS_C_CTRL_P1, CCG4_VBUS_C_CTRL_P2 signal, I also tried the common type C charger but it gives me an error code message and the firmware cannot be updated, could you help me explain in a better way how you solved it, I will wait for your response, thank you.
Greetings.

Re: Lenovo yoga c930 NM-B741 Doesn't boot or charge USB type-C controller issue.
Damn. As usual half-ass reading the topic. Mine is actually 920-13IKB, not C930, that's why it has been so easy.
Original charger is not detected by system, and flasher requires it to be detected to start a flashing.
Thats why i was telling about regular 5V charger, it detects.
You probably actually need those jumpers.
Only thing i can suggest is to check pin 10 XRES. It is external reset of CYPD from multicontroller U17(IT8227).
If i'm not half-assing...Last edited by SMDFlea; 10-27-2023, 01:39 PM.

IDK
Try clean Windows install.
Did you remove jumpers from pin 9 that you soldered?
Maybe faulty IC, buy another one.
P.S.
Succesful update log looks like this
Bootloader is active. Proceeding to update firmware image #1
Reading Silicon ID..
Trying to enable flashing on CCGx device..
Clearing the metadata rows..
Updating flash row 20...
Updating flash row 21...
Updating flash row 22......Last edited by Udavf; 10-27-2023, 02:13 AM.

Re: Lenovo yoga c930 NM-B741 Doesn't boot or charge USB type-C controller issue.
I did not jumped nothing.
Do NOT use original charger.Just use some dumb type C cable and charger WITHOUT POWER DELIVERY SUPPORT.
It should charge from 5v just fine, when battery is above 60%, it will allow you to flash firmware.
You do not need to flash BIOS, you need flash firmware to new CYPD4226 chip that you soldered. It listed at lenovo website as Type C Firmware for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 920-13IKB, Yoga...
