Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Could you please check the resistance of Q204 again. Just from (1) to (3), R/B and B/R. I found that that transistor on my board has a resistance of about 450 in both directions, in circuit and out. I have ordered Q201, Q204 and Q208 for my board. I am quite sure that Q204 is the problem but I thought I would just order them all because of shipping cost. Some are on back order so I am not sure when I will receive them.

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
I had a little time this morning and found a replacement and the data sheet for the K72. I think it is about the same as the W2K but with a diode. I will try to do some more troubleshooting this weekend and probably order the replacement for my board. Here is the data sheet, hope this helps....

I bought the U200 from E Bay I had to buy a lot of 4 and would be glad to sell one to you however I don't think yours is defective, I think the problems we are having are in the circuit that drives the output transformer or possible the transformer itself. I will do some checking today on the K72 and see what I can find. Great idea on starting the new thread.

Yes there are two rows of pins on the connector CN5. I didn't understand, do you have the 5 volts at that connector? The reason the voltage is changing on the emitter of Q207 is because the power supply is pulsing. Try to measure that voltage as quickly as you can, before the power supply starts to pulse. Also check the fuse to see if it is open again. I was out of town for a few days and didn't get to do anything on my board but I am going to try to get something done with it this afternoon. Did you...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Sorry but I was talking about to say F200. Before you do anything you need to check the resistance from both sides of F200 to ground. You need to do this to check for a short on the 15 volt line. You need to measure both sides because the fuse is open. As long as you have a high value of resistance to ground you are OK. If that is OK you need to remove Q205 and Q206 from the circuit and install your new fuse. After replacing the fuse check it with your meter. Q22,Q202 and Q207 are in the circuit to turn...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Glad to help. I figured your transistor Q202 was a P14 because mine was a P13 and I couldn't find the marking code 14 but found P14. Also, they are both digital transistors, transistors with internal resistors. I can tell you how to check Q200, Q202 and Q207 with a simple voltage check if you have a new fuse for F22. Also, you should measure the resistance from both sides of F22 to ground to see if you have an actual short on the fifteen volt line. Here are the pictures, hope they help and let me know...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
I got my parts and replaced Q202 and fuse F200. The fuse didn't open when I turned the unit on and I was able to look at the output of the inverter IC with the scope, it didn't look good and then the fuse opened again. I think that the IC is turning on Q205 and Q206 at the same time causing the fuse to open. I ordered four of the IC yesterday and will let you know what happens when I get them. I measured my Q202 and get about the same reading as you. I will send the picture later tonight because I will...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Your transistor marked (140, I thunk is a P14 and a P14 or DTA114GUA is a transistor with only one resistor. My board is using a P13 for transistor Q202 and it is a DDTA114EE with two resistors. as for Q204, my board is using a W2Xwhich is a DigiKey 568-1743-1-ND.I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to insert them. I ordered Q200, Q202 and F200. I ordered 10 of each just in case. I an going to get U200 running before I worry about any of the drive transistors ( Q201, Q203, Q204 and Q208)....

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
As for Q200, No I do not think it has the diode across the Drain and Source so I don't think it will work, I think it is just for protection but I don't think it will work. I think you will find that it is good anyway. Please let me know the revision number of your board because it must be different than mine. Q202 on my board is a DDTA114 but on your board looks like a K14 or DTA114GUA which has only one resistor. This must have been part of the revision. I think I saw that Mosuser had it listed but...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Q200 is a FET so I think it is good. The way the circuit is designed, if it shorts all it will do is make the inverter run all the time and if it is open the inverter will not turn on at all. You can measure the resistance from the 15 volt supply to ground to check for a short but I think it has something to do with Q202 being open.

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
I haven't found a replacement for Q200 yet but chances are that it is good. I am not sure but I think that replacing Q202 and the fuse will fix the board. There is no direct short on the 15 volt line. I think the reason the fuse is going bad has something to do with Q202 being bad or U22 could be bad. I am going to replace Q202 and the fuse on my board and go from there. The inverter can never work when Q202 is open. If you would like to see if it works, I am going to order my parts sometime next weak...

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
Q200 is a fet and is probably good. Q202 is probably bad. If Q207 shorted the backlight would run all the time. Q207 is a NPN transistor #MMBT4401LT1.Hope this helps. If I can do anything to help you let me know.

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
I think you have an older board than I do but it looks like yours is using a DTA114GUA transistor. Also check diode ZD200 for shorts. This board is using Q200,Q202 and Q207 to supply power to pin 10 1nd 6 of U200. I haven't ordered parts for my board yet but I think that replacing Q200 will get things running unless U200 is bad. Good luck and let me know how things are going.

Re: ACER AL2017.....not working...Led comes on....with-flashlight can see image
This should be a PNP Pre-Biased transistor. Terminal one should be the base, terminal two should be collector and terminal three should be the emitter. There should be two 10K internal resistors used to bias the transistor and it probably will be open.
