Re: Vizio 60" E601I-A3 no display have sound
I replaced the transistor with the 60V one and the TV was working great for a couple weeks. I say was because a new problem has started. The set will power on and seem fine. All of a sudden the picture will freeze, a loud noise will come from the speakers and then the picture will go blank. Eventually the white "ON" LED then fades out. Could this be a power issue or more of a main board issue?
Any ideas?

Re: Vizio 60" E601I-A3 no display have sound
Hi Paulstef. I replaced the transistor on the t-con with a previously suggested one that was rated at 45V/2A instead (RTR020N05TL). I power on the TV and the and I get the Vizio logo but then it turns orange on the screen and there are 3 horizontal lines that appear and then the picture goes blank. My guess is the transistor is not beefy enough. Do you think the 60V one you suggested could potentially do the trick? I have a ZC board and was thinking of ordering a ZG board but I figure I will need to replace the transistor on that...

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
I'm going to repair the t-con on the 601i to get me to that step and then hope that an alternative method can be done to fix the rest. What's this about the tape?

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi everyone. I love to tinker. Majored in Electrical Engineering undergrad. I am also an electronics hoarder with the mentality that with enough time maybe I can fix something. I have been getting into fixing up flat panel TVs of late. This forum has been a great reference and I figure it is time I join up.

Re: e701i-a3 no picture but backlights
Hi Guys, I got a e601i-a3 with the same symptoms for free. I will check the T-con voltage readings as soon as I get the back off. I read through all of the posts and realize that it is a different beast since it doesn't have the side drivers. Has anyone been able to fix this set too and/or any pointers?
Much appreciated
