Re: Optical unit going bad on JVC HD-61Z886 DLP TV
So I've called a couple places to see what my options are. Both Hong Video Technology (http://www.hvtnet.com/hvt_services.php) and Professional Service solutions (http://www.profservsolutions.com/pss_dle.php) have the ability to repair my optical unit. There is one problem though. They do not deal with individual consumers. They are only business to business. I checked out Encompass and Tristate module for rebuilt parts. Unfortunately neither of them have a rebuilt option or can rebuild mine (for whatever reason)....
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Optical unit going bad on JVC HD-61Z886 DLP TV
Hey guys. Like the title says I have a JVC HD-61Z886 television. In the past two weeks, the picture has started to change. The top and bottom of the TV screen have a slight yellow tint to them, and the picture itself appears to be separating (kind of like if you took your 3d glasses off at a 3d movie). It has been diagnosed as a failing optical unit (or light engine). Now here is where it gets interesting.
JVC still has 2 in stock at their warehouse, but they are $600 each (part number is TS-COP6A-SAA). That's a little steep for a 7 year old TV. Do any of you guys know a company...

Re: Got lots of junk, what should I do with it?
We're going through a similar situation at my place. Here are the steps that I follow when going through things:
Do I need it? If yes keep it, if no, go to the next question
Do I know someone that needs it? If yes, get in contact. If not, go to next question
Is it worth anything (either eBay, scrap yard, etc). It costs nothing to list it on eBay. If someone pays me $1 for a broken motherboard and pays shipping, then I'm ahead.

Re: Windows FLP
Its really not that bad. There are a couple things that you don't need that are pretty straight forward (foreign languages, random weird drivers, etc). You could easily slim it down a couple hundred mbs. As far as deleting unnecessary services, there are a couple websites that give explanations of what the services accomplish....

Re: Windows FLP
Have you thought of using Nlite on your Windows XP install cd?
http://www.nliteos.com/
Just take out what you don't need from the cd (services, apps, random files, etc) repack it and install. I've used it on a couple computers, but none were as slow as yours. Its worth a shotRe: Windows FLP<br /> <br /> Have ...it on a couple

Re: Belkin F5D7230-4 bad Teapo SM
Hey, sorry to bump this thread but I have a similar experience to Eagle2a. I have a Belkin F5d7230-4 v4000 router and the wireless does not work on it. Seeing as how it is a backup wireless router I thought it might be fun to have my first try at recapping a board. I was also thinking of getting a new / stronger antenna (maybe. If anyone has links that would be great).
@Eagle2a: Were you ever able to recap your board? Did it fix the wireless issue?

Re: wrt150n rebuild.no more lytics
This is exactly the router I wanted to buy and use DD WRT with. How long did the caps last before you had to change them. Also, how do you like the router?

Re: What's with memory prices?!? *rant*
I agree with Galvanized and MD Willington. DDR 1 is not going to be the standard ram for much longer. Now that newer CPU's (AM2 and C2D) both use DDR 2, DDR 1 will go up since not many more manufacturers will keep making it. Same thing happened to EDO and sdram just like MD Willington stated.

Which caps to buy at mouser
when I go to mouser.com and I go to passive components >> capacitors >> low esr there are only 2 makes: cornell and xicon. Now when I go to Low Impedance, there are nichicon and united chemi-con (both good makes). Which do I use on a motherboard?? Everywhere I read here it says low esr. I live in the US if that helps. Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Monitors and resolution
On my dad's comp, we run 800x600 w. 120 refresh rate and my brothers and I both run 1024x768 (for now) with 85refresh rate. All three are crt's (2 sony trinitrons, and mine is some envision garage sale thing). All 17". I'm getting a new screen (lcd) for my desk as there is no room with my current screen.

Re: Abit KD7-G with Teapos...
Trodas, how do you remove the com and lpt ports so well?? Do you unsolder them, or what? Nice work. BTW, who do you fold for?? Sorry for the OT guys.

Re: Sasmung Centrino Notebook suffered a cup of coffee. Anything repariable?
If I were him, I'd take the laptop apart and let it air out for a while (a day at least). Hopefully that'll help. If not, then theres not much he can do. Heres a thread that may help you:
