  • Re: Samsung LE46N87BD TCon problem?

the picture on the left is the gate driver flexi PCB. and, the green insulation is underneath it. be very careful not to bend or stress it too much because it may cause bond to glass and COF bond problems. if you can remove the glass panel from the frame and do them voltage diagnostics with the glass panel facing down the table the safer.

yes that is a possibility. but you can still fix this by jumping a very thin wire from the top PCB to the gate driver PCB, well if that VGH voltage is the one that is missing that is. try measuring first the prime voltages. test all them dots to find out if those voltages are there or not. if they are all present in the gate drive PCB, the problem is not there and also that indicates that the lines from top PCB to gate driver PCB are good.

  • Re: Can't Find Source for LED Backlights

why not just short them out first, then see if the brightness o the image is okay

  • Re: Samsung LE46N87BD TCon problem?

howdy. the fault could be from a broken trace on the edge of the glass panel from the top board to the gate drive ICs. if there are flexi PCBs on the sides of the glass panel(gate drive PCBs with ICs underneath),you will see small round test points covered in green insulation. scrape them green insulation off the top of the dots. get a volt meter, and try measuring the prime voltages in the first gate drive test points/dots (mostly the one on the top) if they are all present. VGH, VGL, DVDD, VDDA, are the prime voltages on those gate drive PCBs....

  • looking for fuke 25, 27 multimeter lcd

hi to all. i'm looking for a replacement lcd for my fluke 25 multimeter. there are some missing segments and some are faded grey instead of pure black. cleaned both the contacts of the lcd and the pcb and still with same the problem. also replaced the elastomeric connectors with new ones,, no luck at all. after doing all those possible repairs that ended up with the same display issue,it led me to conclude that the lcd itself is dying. went to a fluke service center here and they told me the unit is obsolete same with the replacement parts. tried also to look in ebay, but sadly they will not ship...

  • Re: KDL-52XBR4 Ghosting Issue - Panel or Board???

hi. hope this tip will help. if the problem you're having is with the bond of the flexible pcb to the top pcb and not the one with the glass, you can gently scrape off the insulation of that flexible pcb, expose the copper contacts a bit so that you can solder them directly to the top pcbs contacts. it needs a bit of soldering skill. but that will be a permanent fix for it.

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

umm hi everyone. name's seth from the philippine islands. i'm a electronics repairman and a bit 10 years behind you all. electronics these days are really becoming harder and harder to fix unlike the older ones with commonly known and regular sized components. and because of the lack of right information on how to revive these things they become throw aways in my country. bad panel, bad mainboard, bad inverter board,etc.. nowhere available. but what i saw here in badcaps, panels can still be made functional, mainboards can be...
