Re: RCA L32WD12 Power Supply Problems

Hello all,

A friend of mine gave me an RCA flat screen TV for parts but it looks
too good to scrap so am attempting to repair it. The model is L32WD12
and it looks like the power supply is bad. The standby supply seems OK
and the 12 and 24 volt outputs are pulsing up to about half voltage. I put a
load on the 12 volt output and the 12 volt bulb pulses as about twice a second
and the 24 volt part seems to be doing the same thing. I went over the board
with my VOM and could not find any...

Hello all,

This looks like an interesting site! Being new here, I need to introduce myself. I like building
and repairing electronic equipment and have been a radio ham for over 50 years, holding an
extra class license. Recently I repaired a Kenwood ts-440SAT with bad encoder and antenna
tuner. Also I repaired several Simpson 260 meters and a Triplett VOM too. Presently, I have
apart an RCA flat screen TV with apparent power supply problems so am educating myself
on switching power...
