• Onkyo TX-SR702 no audio after channel repair

Really strange one. Got this amp with digital noise coming from all channels. BAD cap on 12V rail and burned via on -12V rail causing -7V and +7V rails missing, audio noise and "SP CONFIG" message (thinking that MIC is plugged in then it is NOT, but before I replaced cap and fixed rails I have accidently left it ON with output transistors for rear channels hanging in air (NOT HEATSINK ). One channel blew. After further inspection found a LOT of caps out of range on DSP and Processor boards. Replaced every single one that did not pass my ESR test(almost all).Got receiver back together...

Viglent connect 10 bios dump

Hi folks. I have a tabled pc in my hands with black screen after powering on. Owner told me that he was tinkering with bios settings before this happened.
tablet is made by viglen ( Viglen connect 10 ) and it runs windows 10.
Motherboard: EM_I8211_V6.2A (seems used on other tablets as well)
SoC: Z3735G
Bios rom chip: Winbond 25Q6FWS16 8MB

tried flashing with bios found on this site with no luck

• Re: asus x55A no power

Asus X55A No power, No leds, Wont charge. Checked 5V and 3V (3V can be measured at Bios chip if you have no schematics) all voltage present. Checked CMOS battery: BOOM 0.3v. Replaced battery and laptop now works. Always check simple things first folks!

• HP 4540s Disable discrete GPU

Hi folks. I have HP 4540s with dead GPU (usual HP overheating). I saw few videos on youtube from russian technicians who desoldered few ID resistors and disabled power to GPU. After that Laptop won't initialize discrete GPU during POST and will use UMA instead. I wan do it to my board, but in schematics it is unclear which resistors should be removed/added.
I have found VRAM ID resistors in schematics which may be the right ones but half of resistors are not marked on actual board. Has anybody encounter with similar situations?...

• Re: Toshiba L500 LA-4982P powers up - no video

I have managed to fix my problem. Flashed bios from this post:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47094
File had ROM extension and was few bytes too large. Had to remove everything after 0x001fffff(to make 2MB file size) with hex editor and saved as *.bin. Then I compared old bios dump with new created one. Beginning and end matched so I was sure that I made good bios file for flashing.
I don't have programmer so I improvised. Used Raspberry pi which collected dust for long time and flashrom...

• Toshiba L500 LA-4982P powers up - no video

Hi, here I have Toshiba Laptop L500 LA-4982P.After turning on - power led light up, but no video on LCD or external display. It has dedicated AMD graphics (removable separate PCB ).
tried so far:

1.Light re-flow all BGA chips (usual reaching 150C), this is easy technique to identify BGA solder problems but not fix them. - some thing happening.
2.Remove all external devices - some thing
3.Remove Dedicated graphics(it has integrated intel graphics as well) - some thing
4.Check for bad caps - no nec/tokin caps found, ESR looks good on all larger caps.
...

Hi, my name is Martynas and I'm from UK. My first language is Lithuanian so I'll be making some mistakes and typo in English
My hobby is fixing and making any hardware (PC, TV, Arduino stuff, Mobile phones).
All my knowledge came from internet (Yes, youtube and forums like this), I have no proper education. Because I have no day time job, I started home business that includes fixing anything that customers bring to me
I have expensive keithley bench DMM, cheap DSO, soldering station and hours of free...
